Yes, this is a cool DIY adaptation. Dust collection is CFM and suction pressure as you demonstrated in a straight forward way. I do like this buckethead feeder that puts the small tool dust into the big volume collector system. The mystery that you only touched on is how to connect this-to-that. Rockler has adapters but my experience is to get exactly what you need is not obvious. Lock Line has great products too but this all needs some creativity to make it work properly. I get frustrated with the connections. Good video, nice shop.

I think the reason the original dust port has so little suction is that most of the air is going through down draft table. Lay some garbage bags over the table to block the down draft and the suction at the port should improve. Otherwise add a 6" damper below the port and limit the flow to the table.

I think it’s a great idea I am going to try it in my shop. Great job.

What are you recommend doing for your next generation is taking an old direct air vacuum cleaner such as a Kirby Royale Hoover will last longer since they’re designed to have dirt going through them all the time and they should be able to handle larger chunks

The last part is a bit like watching Savage's One Day Builds without the anecdotes from the priveliges of managing as large a shop as his.
