hey just a thought on the Noco issue and forgive me if you already knew this. They have a safety feature where the power cable isn't energized until is senses its attached to a a circuit (ie to keep the leads sparking off each other if you accidentally touch them together. If your charging system is so dead that the Noco can't read that its connected to a circuit, it won't energize the cable unless you hold down that little override button. Once its the charging cable is hot, you'll hear the Noco clicking. Thought it was worth mentioning in case you missed it. Beautiful sport as always...

Thank you for the insight 👍. We did not know about this. We did however know about the override and it specifically states in the manual to only use if the the battery is below 2V. Ours was at almost 10V, that's why we did not use the override. We already contacted Noco and they will send us a new unit. Thank you for following along and all the best, Michelle and Holger 🙏

Which model of Noco do you have? Also, how old is your starter battery? I find most starter batteries pack it in after 4 or 5 years, usually without warning. We enjoy your videos, showing us places in our home province that we can't get too 'cause we don't have a 4x4. Safe travels!

I can't believe that you screwed up opening the corned beef can, lol😂 Yeah, corned beef looks like canned dog food😋Don't smell it before you cook it! The Noco should have started your Jeep no problem. Strange that it did nothing. What did Noco have to say? By the way, have you used the Noco before to jumpstart a vehicle and it worked then? Now you know you need to have the Zoleo activated😁I thought about during the quiet times suspending it for a little savings, but I decided that even for hiking close to town, it's good to have it. What if I smash my phone and I'm hurt. I can still press the SOS button and people will then know where I am and come get me (hopefully). I'm glad you met two helpful souls. Too bad they owned a Toyota😂😂
@backroadjournals
5 ай бұрын
It was a real struggle 😂. And yes, probably should not have smelt it before cooking. Turns out the chunks fell completely apart in the cast iron 🙂. The Noco had all the bars on, but one. Probably lost a bit of charge since we got it. But yes, it should have easily started the jeep. We went through the manual over and over again to see if we did something wrong, but we followed the instructions to the T. Noco will be sending us a replacement after explaining the situation. The real bummer is that I was so confident that we were able to fir up the Jeep with it and then it did not work.. The Zoleo is activated again. Not messing around anymore. It would have been about a 15km hike to the Highway, on a Tuesday in the middle of nowhere and we hadn't seen or heard any other vehicles since the day before. We really got lucky that we met Sierra and Kelly about an hour into the walk. Thank You as always for your support 👍. All the best, Michelle and Holger 🙏

Noco boosters are not all they're cracked up to be.....I had same thing with mine...they are only guaranteed for a set time after that the battery loses power ..still shows voltage but no oomph....I contacted noco who asked for build number on unit. Told me it was out of date...I'd only had it a year ...but it sat on the stores shelf and in warehouses for the previous years so it's not guaranteed from when you buy it only from when it's made...so they basically said tough luck ...or I could spend twice what it cost to have them put a new battery in it.....great customer service ... Not .. one trick I learned to get most out of it was never connect it to both battery terminals....only live. Put the neg straight to the motor or ground point ... otherwise the battery sucks the juice into it trying to build it's own volts up .. same thing if you use any jump pack .. best way if you can is connect direct to starter solenoid put the vollts right where they're needed....but noco are a no-go as far as relying on them.... expensive for an emergency back up unit that lets you down right when you need it most.... always carry a back up for your back up .... especially if that back up is a noco
