(Rumi)
You're burning/torturing me in one moment, and in another, you're showing me the heaven. (This implies the contrast between extreme pain and pleasure that both come with love)
You're taking me to the light to open my eyes.
Dreams, Visions
'Kathairein' means 'cleanse, purge' in Greek, and is what gives rise to the word 'catharsis'. It has the sense of purifying something through a ritual, which in this case is this repetitive melody that began with the idea of a 'mantra' in which our chanting is added by
reciting a verse by Rumi.
The mantra, the rhythmic and consecutive repetition, has the power to reduce the weight of our mind: the brain stops being alert
because it can anticipate what is going to come.
And when we put aside the mind is when we can access our visions and so much information that is beyond the conscious and rational and that has to do with our ancestors, our dreams and visions.
(These Rumi verses refer to the beloved,
but it could well be the mind itself)
