This canon makes more sense to me than the Legends version, Anakin was a person of overwhelming willpower, he certainly had the heart of a Sun Dragon.

It’s understandable that Anakin had a strong need for control, he always felt like he was being used and controlled by others, Watto, the Jedi, and Palpatine. Obi Wan and the Jedi had been too controlling towards Anakin, and they made him feel like a tool rather than a person. The Jedi had been too controlling back then, and it was a mistake for them to take infants into the Order since it deprived of them of their right to choose that life for themselves, Yoda realized that after the Jedi purge.

This story also retcon's part of the original version of the Return of the Jedi novelization. In the original version Anakin wishes he could have known Yoda, and thanked him for training his son. It also had Sidious mimicking Yoda's speech pattern - so even had some inconsistencies internally.

@@RetneysHolocron Mostly because they were generally written from earlier drafts of the screenplays. However, they were considered canon unless and until a movie retconned them. Part of the reason for this is because the books included many scenes that were deleted from the movies. For example, the Star Wars novelization includes a scene of Luke talking to Biggs as friends on Tatooine. In the movie, Biggs doesn’t show up until the Death Star run but he’s talking about Luke as if they go way back (which they do). The earlier appearance simply looks like it was filmed but cut from all versions for the sake of time. Also, until certain movies were released, some facts were known just from the novelizations. For instance, the Anakin/Obi-Wan fight on a volcanic planet was included in the prologue of Return of the Jedi novelization. Later, in Revenge of the Smith, we find the name of the planet as Mustafar, when originally it was to be the core of Coruscant (called Abaddon in the movies).

@@Violet-uh9fj it isn’t a happy ending though. Luke as far as we know, had no children and failed to bring back the Jedi Order. And Leia’s failed to create a New Republic, and her son becomes evil, and ultimately a Palpatine takes on the Skywalker legacy.

The only thing that I don't like about this story is the fact that in his final thoughts, he didn't think about Padme. She was the only reason why he did this in the first place. Like all of a sudden, he's going to stop thinking about the woman that he loves and never think about her again, not even when he's about to die... yeah, I don't believe that. He never thinks about Padme when he's thinking about his children nothing this is so wrong. She is the core reason of his hate and darkness and I'm truly surprised more people don't realize this

I would like you to explain what the word canon means as its labeled in all of your videos. As far as I know the only works which are canon are the films produced by Lucas, The Clone Wars animated TV show, and the films produced by Disney. Even the novelization of The Clone Wars and the films aren't considered canon.
