Climate will and has always changed even before mankind walked earth. Stop with the lies. I understand the same thing happened in the late 60s during September and even in the 90s.

If earth's climate didn't change, we would not be here. Remember that...

1. We need to think about climate change like we do HIV - climate is going to make our weather patterns a little to a lot more treacherous, and it's going to undermine all human systems / sectors. Extreme events will occur more often, last longer & be more intense (ie increasing frequency, duration & intensity). These events is going to cost more & more of national & global GDP every year (could be as much as 20%) making less money available for development & social support. Happy days! 2. There is a lot more research into climate change in the northern hemisphere, but very little in the southern hemisphere. In the NH because the Arctic is heating up faster relative to the mid latitudes & equator, this is weakening the polar vortex awa making the jet stream more erratic. This means much colder weather in winter and much hotter weather in summer, and more volatile weather during the inbetween seasons. This may be less pronounced in the SH because there's less land, but what's happening in the NH will probably happen in the SH eventually. Climate change is also messing with the ozone hole - yes, it's back! 3. Over the past 10 years GHG emissions have accelerated and various natural systems are losing the ability to counter this. 2023 saw global temps surpass the 1.5 C limit set by the Paris Agreement. Human society is entering unchartered territory; worrying about "climate change" is over (it's here), now we need to worry about avoiding tipping points - this is a very scary situation. The Earth has 9 planetary boundaries, including climate. We have surpassed 6 and are about to surpass the last 3. Human civilization is in very real & serious trouble besides climate! 4. Most infrastructure in SA was built in the mid 1900s before climate impacts started biting. Old infrastructure will probably need to be reinforced whilst new infrastructure will need to bear future climate instability in mind. This is going to cost our economy billions, awa lots of opportunity for corruption. Yay! 5. Climate mitigation & adaptation in all sectors requires closer cooperation between all spheres of gov (national, prov & local) awa between gov, business, academia, civil society & citizens etc but this is often lacking and / or dysfunctional. 6. While SA does have a Disaster Management Centre, disaster management in SA tends to be reactive rather than proactive. Every province, region, city & community should be compiling hazard maps and - based on these - deploying mitigation & adaptation strategies, utilising volunteers & NGOs etc, awa developing communication channels. Annual drills - similar to fire drills - should also be conducted so various entities learn to work together during a crisis. 7. The media needs to ask the right questions. Climate change is here and it's only going to get worse. The media needs to convene panels of experts to discuss climate mitigation & adaptation, and keep all sectors accountable for lack of action & cooperation. Society & communities need to work together to prep for things to come; life is about to get "interesting"... seat belts on!

Give facts, NB FACTS about cut-off low systems and snowfall in September/October in previous years. Do it for the last 50 years and for the last 100 years. That will be from 1924 until the present. Then we can decide for ourselves. Same climate change narrative which is opinion and based on models. No models, just give the facts. We can then make our own minds up about how unusual the weather is(or not).
