I am loving the fact this OP is having a mini renaissance in booktube circles, anime fans or non anime fans. This allows for more critical discussion and we need more video essay like this. Also, minor correction, OP is not the longest manga not even comic. That goes to series such as Detective Conan,Hajime no Ippo and Golgo 13.

Absolutely! It's a wonderful time to be a OP fan. I meant to say "best-selling", but I flubbed, my bad!

Yes! A historian friend of mine shared this with me because I'm a One Piece superfan (Although i think that's all of us once we get to a certain point). Very glad you made this video, would love to see more OP content. I'm actually in the process of analyzing the recent live action trailer for historical references to infer what themes we'll be seeing.

Good video,One piece still has yet to show us it's true lore relating to the void century and stuff, which I'm really excited for. I would also really enjoy if we see prequels exploring the histories of Noland,Roger etc in more detail. I haven't read many books if any outside of mangas and stuff, but in terms of mangas op has the best World building i have seen

Honestly, I've never been able to get into One Piece because of the art style (there's a lot visually going on), but the story itself has always seemed interesting. This video just furthered that interest, so I would love to see more of the deep dive like you'd talked about doing, especially if it's something you would find joy in doing!

Until I watched this video I was unaware of the existence of One Piece. I am old-haven't been exposed to Manga before. I liked your analysis of what about One Piece makes you love it so. Hoo-boy, what a stack of books!

Incredible video, thank you so much for this content and sharing such intimate passion in your life, it echoed so much with my one life, One Piece, as other mangas/tails are able to do, shaped my growth ✨

I really wish that Oda would release smth similar to Silmarillion about events of the OP World. Like Vivre Cards type of thing. Cause up to few months ago, even with crumbs that we had about Void centuty-today time line there was a huge gap about 300-200 year period prior current events. Like what's up with Birka and its people or maybe Noland's journey, or even Alabasta? Sure we have VC stuff, but royal Palace of Alubarna that is 4000 y.o is predating Alabasta itself. I'm pretty sure if Oda would like to milk some money by cashing out OP world's history that way , nobody would complain. I sure wouldn't! Also that @melonteee interaction that you manifesting, girl I see your vision 🙌

That would be a dream, but I am also totally happy with what we have. Dude deserves a break after the last several decades of hard work (but then again, he might not know how to stop). Manifesting (and simping) for @melonteee 🙏

Ok. This is going to sound weird. I am a ridiculous bts fan. They reference many literary works, the majority of which I have read. Except for one piece. It just seems like too big of a rabbit hole for me to have time to be consumed by. So I'm all for you breaking down all the historical references and telling me all the things you think are cool about it. You I will make time for lol. Anyway, great video, thanks as always
