Great analysis, I really appreciate the entire "Mount Tantiss suite" that Kiner crafted. Hemlock's theme, The Vault soundtracks, and Daily Routine all mesh very well together into this depressing, lonely and sinister base. I personally would like to see more analyses of "Suites" or "bundles" of music from Bad batch. Whether its the development of the Bad batch main theme (Like its reprisal during the epilogue), or some of the location-based suites. Personally, I've been listening to the entire Eriadu suite, from "The Summit" to "sacrifice" and its been a fantastic mix of lietmotifs, action music, and this new half chromatic half arpeggiated Tarkin/Eriadu theme thats really nice.

Thanks for commenting again my friend! I absolutely agree with you, all the music for Tantiss is incredible, and the Eriadu suite is one of my personal favourites from the show as well. I would love to make longer, more comprehensive analyses for the music but unfortunately time doesn't allow for that. I'll probably go back in future and return to analyzing more of the themes and suites associated with specific characters and locations. I'm not sure if you're familiar with the KZitem channel: Star Wars Music Analysis, but he regularly uploads videos analyzing the music from all corners of Star Wars. His videos were partially my inspiration for attempting this type of video in the first place, so I'd definitely recommend checking him out because I feel like you'd really enjoy his content as well.

@@hobbricks_lego_manYeah, actually, I watched his videos too, so it was a pleasant surprise to see you also do something similar of a musical analysis.

Nice video! I cannot stress enough you have to make a Crosshair Episode Part 2, the first one was soooo good 🎉

Great analysis, however there are a few points I'd like to add. I've noticed Hemlock's theme in the Surprise Inspection track. Personally I find his theme very beautiful and eerie, perfectly accurate to the character. However, on roughly 1:00 of the Surprise Inspection his theme is different. It's very slow and distorted, it barely emits any danger. I don't remember hearing this part in the actual episode but even if I just missed it, it makes me wonder why Kiner went with it and the way he changed it there. Perhaps signifying that anything that happens on Tantiss was known to Hemlock? View it like an octopus surrounding its tentacles around it's prey. Another discovery that I've made was when I listened to the CX theme in S2. I don't remember which of the two tracks, however, I'm confident that I've heard a glince of his theme there. Perhaps Kiner is telling ys that the CX troopers were Hemlock's project all along. Now, yes the first CX appeared a couple of episodes before Hemlock, one or two, but we know about Hemlock's previous base and perhaps that's the origin of the first CX troopers.

All great observations! A buddy of mine compiled a suite of the many variations of Hemlock's theme - you can even find a subtle version of what sounds like his theme going back as far as S1 Ep 1 in the track "End of the War" so your assumption that they implemented his leitmotif into the theme for the CX troopers is most likely correct going by the tendency the Kiners have of introducing musical ideas long before they become truly relevant. I also noticed what you're talking about in "Surprise Inspection" as well - in the scenes on Tantiss his theme sounds more calm and powerful - until the finale where it begins to sound more desperate and frantic.
