Great vids man keep up the good work. Learned a lot from your denim videos! I feel like this is one of the most intimidating sections in the thrift store is the denim section but i've been able to grow a nice little collecting of Levis thanks to you. Appreciate it!

Love your channel! I just emailed over a pair of my levis that I can’t tell if they’re real or fake and they have a big E label on the back.

hi lootfam need to know or explain for era when levis 501 use zippers... and levis use all time only zippers made for levis or use other brand. thanks
@LootFam

The levis 501 never had zippers. They have always been button fly. Levis used several different brands of zipper through the years before using their own branded zippers in the early 80s. They sometimes continued to use other brands after that, but generally after the early 80s you will only find levis branded zippers.

@@theunseen547 Yes, i should been clearer. The 501 is button fly, but there was the 501z (50s) that had zippers.

Hello! I'm a big fan of your channel, it helps me a lot to understand certain building codes on garments. I have a question, what is true about some 501s that do not have a serial number behind the button?
@LootFam

Much older 501s didn’t have factory codes on the back of the buttons. Most 501s made after the 60s should have factory codes.

Hi Josh, i am wondering if you could do a video on how to date vintage Lee jeans. There is so much information online about Levi’s but not so much about Lee. I recently found a pair of vintage lee and am super interested to know the age of the pair. Thank you!

Great idea!! I’m currently working on the research for such a video. Like you said there isn’t a ton of good information out there, so its a bit slower putting together. If you’d like you can email me some pictures and i’ll give toy my best estimate. Lootfam1@gmail.com

Hey man, I recently found a awesome pair of vintage selvedge 501s on eBay, however I got them at an insane price and I noticed they were being shipped from Thailand (which I have heard is notorious for fake Levi's to the point where they have workers work in them to make them look faded). One they arrive and I check them over, do you think I could send you a few pics and get your opinion on them? Thanks.
