Hey, thanks for the video, I just got mine earlier this week and I love It. I love how you set everything up, obviously I know you have a lot of practice with customizing devices and android devices which i personally don’t, I’m still quite the noob. Im curious how did you change the theme/appearance for Daijisho from the default? It’s a darker theme that looks so great. Also when you were going through Retroarch, the background was like a reddish black color. How did you get that on there? Just curious how to change those things and what the themes are called. As you said, you got It looking “all pretty” and after spending $200 on this one compared to under $80 for a Miyoo or 35XX, I obviously want to make this device as clean and awesome as possible. Hopefully you see my question, thanks in advance!

@joshuasuarez2370 I mean, the Retroid Pocket 3+ can do it for a bit cheaper ($150) but is a little hit and miss on some games, and requires tinkering with settings to get working well. I have one, and it does work for Melee, but I had to fiddle with settings a bit. The good news is that it can use Bluetooth controllers and the HDMI out to play with family - it's a good time! This device is a little more expensive, partly due to the metal shell if that matters for you, but same chip and generally same performance as the cheaper RP3+. If you want decently good performance without the tinkering for Gamecube, the Ayn Odin Lite will probably just work out of the box, with a bigger screen/size, at $199. Hope that helps! This video along with all of your others have helped me determine that the pocket 3+ is what I am going to order. You point out so many things that I did not think of. I was really considering a 4:3 for retro gaming but I'm realizing I want to do more with my device than I thought. The pocket 3+ seems to be the most versitile device for the money right now.

My RPG score is 4, which is pretty high, but I think I'll go with Odin, because of a bigger screen and higher performance for relatively same price. Although, if I needed an actually pocketable handheld, this is probably the best one at the moment.

Relatively the same? The lowest end Odin is 200. Ayn's shipping is almost twice as what Anbernic charges.

Anbernic should release an RG505M model (RG505 but with the metal shell), that would be so friggin' awesome. then you pretty much could have had an "RG405M" but with the 5 inch OLED screen

I just ordered this because I want N64 to run smoother than on the rg353v and the INSTANT I clicked confirm order I had that little tingle in the back of my head that I wasted my money. However, I got 6HP so I’m feeling healthier than ever now.

I got a 3, but I am a SUPER-NOOB to any of this. So, some of the questions I didn’t know the answer or at least haven’t decided yet. I think I know what I want, but I feel like there are so many of these now because they can possibly get you to buy more than one. My “X” handles my real old school games, my “Y” does the more complicated systems, and my “Z” is good for phone OS games. It’s all a little daunting. A lot in fact.

Good device but for me the aspect ratio of steam deck and Logitech g cloud with the perfect 16:10 aspect ratio balancing 4:3 retro and 16:9 modern games. I wonder if we’ll get a retro handheld that’s powerful but portable with a screen balance that can fairly present both 4:3 and 16:9 games equally pleasant.

I probably would have bought this if the triggers were like the RP3, and it had an OLED screen. I wanted to get the rg505 but the anbernic logo, the triggers and overall design (looked like a toy) turned me off. This device is closer to what I asked for, except for the triggers and screen, everything else looks great to me.

I recently got my 353m (love it!) after watching this review. I really like the look of this device, the screen is a decent upgrade for my degrading vision lol. But I don't know if I'm ready for an Android only experience. I've become spoiled by how streamlined the batocera interface is. I know Android can run all these systems and more, sometimes better, but it just seems so clunky in comparison. Even on my rg552 I typically run Linux. If that had the option to reboot into Android I might use it a little more often but having to eject the sd card is a headache

This one should be, it’s definitely their best unless you specifically want to focus on 8 and 16 bit games. If that is the case then look up last years m device 353m However I wouldn’t get a ambernic device at all. The retroid devices are just superior at this point

@@whatsupdude retroids are generally cheaper, better chip sets and built with good quality. The retroid 3+ is probably still the best bang for your buck with retroid flip close behind. You can look up the review on this channel for the 3+ and it makes it all clear why it is so good

I was recently comparing my RG 552 with Odin Pro and just damn how good is the screen of RG 552 . After playing retro games on this device, its just dont feel same on anything else. This screen is something. Its such a shame that the battery drawing like crazy, even in sleep or off mode. And you can fast charge only. I feel its just such missed opportunity for ambernic with this one. Otherwise best device for retro games up to N64.

As always, this was a supremely informative video! For my use case and all that though, I’m probably gonna pass on this device altogether. There’s a lot I like about it, to be sure, but I already have an RP3+ that I absolutely love and I’m not really in the market to get a new device right now, anyhow. This would be something I definitely would consider if I didn’t already have the RP3+, though

For now, this is my device. It's got a much better feel than the rp3 and I don't mind playing PSP at .82 aspect ratio and having it fill up most of the screen. I can mess around and make it do a lot of things I want. It's actually pocketable. More so than Retroid's offerings. It's comfy and premium. Sure I wish a few things could be better but all in it's easy to carry and feels good to play, and that's good enough for now.
