Bernard was a friend of mine who I played music with at the Seedtime on the Cumberland festival. In my opinion one of the best musicians anyone can listen to. Had such a unique style and sound.

Loved every moment of this film. Wanted to start it over as soon as the credits rolled. Oh to spend just one day in this man's presence & go on an actual field trip would be epic! Wish I knew him personally!

Mr. Cyrus is a remarkable storyteller, and his knowledge of and photography of wildflowers is praiseworthy. i would be afraid of encountering copperheads and rattlesnakes in the areas where he rambles. The rock houses seem to be a perfect place for bear dens

Interesting! I grew up being very interested in all of the plants, trees, etc. found on our family farm in west central Illinois. We have many of the plants mentioned - sassafrass, goldenrod, sweet william, wild geranium, wild ginger, purple trillium, shooting stars, stone root (wild yam), mayflowers, yellow violets, pawpaws, dog tooth violets, etc. When I took biology in college, I already could identify all of the trees in the local timber, and my classmates would ask me, "How do you know all that?" I still enjoy a walk outside to pick some jewel weed, poke greens, mushrooms (morels, especially), etc. There's a lot of food in season, just for the picking, to be gathered. Thanks for this video, and all the things to be learned!

What a curious and neat little guy! 😍 he seems like he would have been the most chill dad and grandpa! And a slew of information to offer up on a nature walk! Not even mentioning that he was a darn heckuva musician!! I know the family is proud to have had him and call him theirs! Don’t blame them either.

@@salrivera7578 I had a friend growing up and in HS. Played Spanish guitar as easily as one breathes. Homeboy should have gone pro but went military and then no clue what happened to him after. Developed an appreciation for it after listening to him and seeing the amount of joy it gave him whilst playing. Beautiful, relaxin’ stuff!! A die hard metal fan, I’ll stop dead in my tracks, sit and chill if I hear that Spanish guitar🥰
