Thank you for posting this video. I really like the concept of this game, but feel as though a slightly more in depth explanation of the encounters would help my confidence in playing this game.

I'm not sure I can provide a better explanation than what is in the rulebook, which you can find on Board Game Geek here... boardgamegeek.com/filepage/253534/ancient-terrible-thingsreawakened-rulebook There are also several forums there which might clear up any confusion. The rules are slightly different depending whether you are playing solo or multiplayer, and I believe there may have been some adjustments to the rules since this video was posted, as I only had a prototype and the rules were still in development. I hope that helps. If you have any specific questions about the encounters I would be happy to help if I can :)

Nowhere in the book does it say how many times you can actually roll. Even here he says you can only roll once, then rolls again due to having the ability to lock a die, even though he chose not to lock it.

By default you only roll the dice once, however you can re-roll them using your Feat and Swag card abilities. (everyone start with a hat which allows you to re-roll) I can totally understand your confusion (especially if you're used to Yahtzee style games where you can roll the dice 3 times) this tripped me up initially as well. Here is the reference in the rulebook (page 12) to clarify... The Encounter phase has three steps: A. Build your dice pool. Take the 5 green Focus dice and the 2 white Action dice. These form your starting dice pool. ( At this point, you may Perform Feats or Use Swag cards that allow you to swap dice in your dice pool. ) B. Roll your dice. Roll your final pool of dice. After rolling, immediately set aside the two Action dice. These are locked and cannot be re-rolled. C. Perform a Feat and Use Swag. You may play Feat cards and use Swag cards in any order and as many times as you wish, to trigger effects and manipulate your dice. I hope that helps.

Game looks cool but also disappointing for solo. :(

It is indeed good fun. Probably better with more players, but at least the solo mode is there as an option. I often find I will use the solo mode in a game to allow me to get to know the rules before introducing it to others.
