Timothy, I can't thank you enough for sharing such a beautiful piece. It's a continuing reminder how grateful I am to still be able to experience the hard work of musicians after so many canceled tours & concerts. I look forward to the day I can attend your concert. There's nothing more exciting than feeling the vibe of a live audience. Thank you again for sharing.

Awwww😍😍😍😭😭😭Thank you profusely Timothy!!!🙏🙏🙏 I really wanted to listen to your Andntte again!!! I'll watch this viedo uncountably maybe🤣 I live in Changwon Korea, and I vividly remember last year when you visited here and played Tchaikovsky and this very song. Especially I've never forgotten the moment when I heard Andante as encore, because it was my first time to meet the tune and, moreover, my heart literally melt down and fell in love with the song. I remember that, sitting at the hall, I wanted the song never end😂 The moment was so beautiful and touching, even shocking, that it still remains very strong and impressive to me😌 Thank you again for the wonderful performance last year and I cannot wait to go to your concert again someday😆😊🎶 (Listening to this video, I found that videos are good, but it cannot be as great as going to a concert hall and listen to live music with resonance there in person😭 I really hope the pandemic ends soon, so live concerts are open again😖🙏)

Hi! I remember that concert too, it was a beautiful evening with Maestro Kim. I agree about the video not being the same as being in a live concert hall. I hope that concerts will come back soon as well and maybe I can come back to share my music in Changwon City again soon.

First : Thank you.... As nowadays we are enjoying performances differently, (alas no live experiences in the old Europe here. 😁) I am grateful for your contribution to our cultural life... 👍. As Bach himself noted, the spiritual reverence in his works should be always present.... You integrated a wonderful serenity.... An amazingly transcendental feel of peace and beauty... ☮️.

I absolutely loved it. Thank you so much for sharing ❤️ On another note I’ve noticed that sometimes you do the high elbow when playing the G string and sometimes you play it with a collapsed elbow (or triangle, not sure how to call it). Is there a specific reason for that? I’m not an experienced player or anything, but I always thought people use either one or the other? (Sorry, this might not be the right place to ask such a thing)
@timmychooi
3 жыл бұрын
Hi Johanna, Thanks for the comment and for the question! Yes, I vary the angle of my elbow because when I want a shimmery-like sound I tend to raise it because it gives it more speed. When I drop my elbow, I usually want a deeper/rustic sound. It allows my bow arm to sink into the string giving it a richer sonority. The problem is that It takes more time to speak if I drop the elbow. When I raise it can produce a sound more quickly and softly. I think some people use both, but some are more fixed into using one system as well... great observation!
