I hope in the future BWF WTF reform the qualification system. Its better you adopting Olympics qualification: Every sector get 4 group (total 12 athlete) 8 TOP rank (delete 2 max country) plus 4 "wildcard" from every continent confederation (america africa oceania europe can participate), with minimum qualification= at least become finalist at super 100 in a year.

Couldn't agree more!!! Now with Zii Jia not having a coach, it will make sense to train together with Anders in Dubai to be each others' sparring partners at a high level.

Good episode guys, glad to see TBE continuing and maybe Hans can spar with Anders whilst out in Dubai with his family as well as recording a podcast episode. Interesting decision to hire a Danish coach from Anders, thought he might pick an Asian coach to get new ideas / approach. Huge respect for Joachim though! Maybe he can feature in an upcoming TBE episode? 🤔

I think It make sensei you train together. In the latest videos Viktor has put out on SoMe he is just running around on his own in the Duba training center Perhaps it is not so easy to get sparrig partners as he thought.

In my opinion the 8 qualified are well deserved. Your friend didn't make the cut and you can blame no one but his results.

yes there is a reason why it is called The World Tour finals. The players that participated on the world tour and qualified for the event - the 8 that did the best and scored the most points!

it seems like there has been a noticeable dip in Ander's performance after Axelsen left the national team. Is this due to the loss of quality sparring partners or is it just a coincidence?

they had some arguments back in 2018 I think due to business ventures and $$ but then Viktor apparently backed out last minute, so Vitinghus was chosen instead to create the badminton experience, Notice how VA has never been on the podcast, they had a falling out.

Glad to hear about the changr to world tour finals qualifying, but anyone else think 14 is too many still? I’m not sure any of the players played more than 14 anyways … not sure why not 10? Also seems strange theres so much backlash to the idea that the cumulative system played into LZJ not qualifying. Yes, he could have done more to qualify over Lu (like beating him in Australia) but his best results were still better than Lu’s, more consistently, and at higher ranked tournaments. Doesn’t make sense that having played an extra few tournaments where you lose in the first or second round put you in the lead. Also strange to me that super 100s count at all? Love Kodai as a player, but his winning the vietnam open seemed to count disproportionately when there was no other serious competition present.
