I'm in my first year of architecture classes. I was asked to design a home from a list of architects. I ended up choosing this house. I was quite overwhelmed by the scale of this building and its' 3 building separations. After spending more than 20 hours of straight-edge drawing obliques, elevations, floor plans, and multi-views, making this my first huge project was a pleasure to work on. Thank you for the walkthrough. Hello from California, USA.

I had to design an artist retreat for my 1st year. I had no idea about this project but my final juror showed it to me after my presentation. I was surprised I had some very similar elements to it. Made me want to study Ando's architecture!

You need to research Villa Savoye. Overall it is considered a great piece of architecture. in reality it is a disaster.

As always, architecture as sculpture is just that, a monument that you visit, but not live there.
Wonderful video!!!! Thank you SO much for uploading this. I love Ando´s work

Maybe I just elaborate. Ando once said, in order for people to create the inner connection with space, the composition or circulation has to be out of people's expectation...

How do they get the sheen on the concrete walls? Is it sealed? Polished?
11:10 Leakage marks on Japanese-style room ceiling. Ando Architects does not have a good understanding of the Japanese climate and neglects the basics of residential design.

Maybe condensation is occurring at the top light point and it is dripping. With the current details, I wonder if it would be possible to double the glass of the top light to prevent condensation from occurring.

I normally like Ando's work and minimalism very much,...but I don't care for this house. It seems very confining. I also think that the video is very poorly done.

Метонные стены, чтобы дойти в комнаты надо пройти галлерею длинною в жизнь. Минимализм, словно ты в тюрьме живешь. Цепь вместо поручней на лестнице. Да к черту этот дом и этот стиль. Могила.
