I've only went through 1 tornado incident in my life. My dad was stationed at Ft. Polk, Louisiana back in the mid 90's. We went camping at Toledo Bend for the weekend and on the 2nd night we had severe storms, just popped out of nowhere and you hear it, loud tornado sirens blaring out with no visual of the tornado because it was at night and views blocked by dense forest, we could feel the pressure changing, winds picking up and really no shelter other than a car or a small trailer we rented. Luckily, we got through the night and in the morning not even knowing where it hit we could see the damage and the path it left just 1/4 mile away. No deaths or injuries as it passed through where houses and buildings were far apart from each other. Never been back to Louisiana or any other tornado states. I'm happy right here in the desert.

Living in the southern part of tornado alley is terrifying. Up here in Minnesota it’s scary enough and we never see it like they do down south.
Absolutely that's why most people get caught in the path because they just be in awe, before they know it they're like oh s*** we got to get cover.

The things you notice after watching this multiple times - the people casually standing next to their car and watching, the lights going out after each explosion, the loud bang you can hear the third time there is a flash of light, the really large piece of debris being picked up at the very end. It makes you wonder what the aftermath was from what looked like a huge and violent twister. Wow.

That is a gorgeous shot. A lot of the time in tornado videos the camera is shaky, or the wind and rain are obscuring the shot a lot of the time. The snaping sparks of the powerlines added a lot to how serious this event was. A gem of a footage.

Anybody that lives in " Tornado Alley " needs to look into getting a tornado shelter that is underground. If your planning on building a house ... I suggest you put the shelter inside the house during construction. My father installed a tornado shelter in his garage ... soon after the foundation was poured ,when he was constructing his house in 2000. He has had to get in it numerous times over the years and anybody in that shelter will survive any tornado ... even a F5. If God forbid his house is ever destroyed and collapses on top of his shelter ... his local police and fire department know about his shelter and that they need to respond after a devastating storm.
