Is it me or has Boone had the greatest journeyman career ever? He's knocked out Adonis Stevenson, has knocked down Kovalev, and the great Andre Ward. He's had fights with people like Erislandy Lara. I mean you gotta respect the guy for what its worth. Its pretty impressive for a guy with no amateur background!

Darnell Boone is amazing! Sure he has more losses than wins, but this man is more courageous than all the champs put together. Ward, Stevenson, Kovalev, Pascal, Lara, and others such as Vera, Stevens, and Rodriguez. And yes, he usually loses (with one shocking exception), but he is always looking for the biggest challenge. I only wish Floyd Mayweather had Boone's spirit...

TIGERWOODSBOYFRIEND You sound like a fool... "TYSON used to copy fouls and use ideas from guys in the 1920's because people had forgotten about them and MODERN Referees didn't know about them or even recognise them so he had free reign!" On one hand you say how Tyson points out Floyd's "dirty tactics" then you say he utilized dirty tactics from the 20s so it was alright. What kinda biased bull shit is that. Cheating is cheating fouling is fouling you think Tyson didn't practice those dirty tactics? Of course he did on top of that he threw elbows. Your point is contradictory on one hand Floyd Mayweather hater Mike Tyson says Floyd cheats so you use Mike as a reference a man who cheats himself and bit off part of a man's ear in the ring. Then you say premeditated fouling is not okay,your man Tyson again the same guy you use as a reference premeditated fouls he went in the ring and knew he would use this foul or that foul trick tactic etc like any other boxer who uses these as techniques. Of course when Floyd or Andre does it it's dirty yeah whatever...then you spoke about casual fans you're a casual fan making statements like " because now guys are actually training to achieve these positions to utilise these cheating techniques and THAT is a sign that it's out of control and is far too accepted or ignored and it needs to made clear that doing it every round until the Ref tells you off or warns you is NOT CLEVER ITS FUCKING PLANNED CHEATING!" Hey casual fan they've been training to use these tactics tricks etc and just because referees( who study boxing most are way back fans)don't know about certain dirty tactics doesn't make it right for Mike Tyson or anybody else. Bernard Hopkins and other boxers like the head butter Evander Holyfield on down the line all hit and held punched in the leg, thigh(Bernard) or whatever their thing was until the ref tells them to stop.The key is not to get caught so of course if and when the ref sees it he's gonna stop it they are tactics that have been practiced then used in fights since the sport began...
@mookeychase0907
9 жыл бұрын
TIGERWOODSBOYFRIEND My bumbling words was 50% quoting your comments. "Tyson used tactics from the 20 so referees didn't know" a referee knows what a foul is so there was no free reign. Like Floyd like Holy field like Mike Bernard and other fighters who use holding elbows punching in the leg sly head butts. Referees allow a certain amount of it, to suggest a professional ref doesn't know something that you know yeah you sound like a fool(sorry). Then to say "fighters actually practice those techniques now it's out of hand" further shows your lack of knowledge. As I said last night they been practicing these tactics tricks or whatever you wanna call em. Then you used Mike Tyson who is the last person in the world who can talk about cheating,it just so happens you don't like Floyd or Andre Ward and his statement seemed to indict them when in reality it was nothing but him hating. Now here is my side of what I wrote minus most of what you wrote...Now in case you didn't know sports is big money boxing allows certain things basketball allows certain star players to get away certain things. Football allows certain teams certain things and baseball had no policy against steroids for years. So there you have it it all translates into fans getting what they pay to see and continuing to pay big money. So you will never see the end of these things because it is financially based in all sports boxing included. There were no emotional answers I'm 50 and I am psychologically healthy enuff and open minded enuff to admit what is right and what is wrong even if my fav athlete is guilty of it. Does Andre Ward push yes does Floyd push yes did Bernard hit on the leg of the opposite side of the ref he sure did. Does Tom Brady cheat yes but I understand it's all politics in the end everything is politics my dude. Now what happens is it is determined these fighters don't gain an unfair advantage when using them if Floyd Andre Bernard Holyfield knocked or hurt someone as a result of these tactics they surely would be DQed or have points taken or be penalized. Search boxing pages you will see no racist sh*t no backing bullsh*t. No agreeing with racist or personal attacks no emotional answers. If someone has touched my emotions,I will answer or respond emotionally which usually translates to anger. Therefore I don't answer that kinda stuff because it would be admitting they got under my skin. I refrain from helping contaminate these forums especially when there are knowledgeable dudes or those who make good points. You made a few good issues but I disagree with alot of what you said. Have a nice day my dude and if I called you a dumbass I as a man apologize.....

But m sorry your not gonna sit there with a straight face and tell me that an Olympic gold medalist like Andre Ward has not improved or learned anything at all in 10 years... And he's the same today as he was then... Listen GGG won 300+ amateur bouts... Ward has not lost since he was a child... A CHILD!... As an amateur and pro... I mean if you are using that logic... I can say GGG lost 5 amateur fights to the no namers that he did lose to and if they could defeat him how easy do you think it will be for Ward... I get what you're saying... I do... But you're not jus gonna dismiss the greatness of Ward like he's just some round the way guy... The man is NUMBER 2 POUND FOR POUND in the WORLD behind ONLY MAYWEATHER for SOME TIME NOW!!! That being said, Bute has every possible advantage vs Froch, excluding stamina, unknown territory and has an untested chin. So Bute has better speed, movement, power and will be the boxer and puncher and Froch will only be the brawler. If Froch can survive the liver uppercuts, he can try to get Bute tired in the final rounds where he is usually stronger. However, since the Andrade fight, Bute paces himself pretty good now. He is so sneaky that his opponents give him room or if not they get koed.

Andre Ward is highly skilled he really doesn't have any flaws he got caught with a short uppercut and got dropped but who knows... An uppercut in close like that could have dropped anyone maybe Chad Dawson's keys to victory would be to get lucky and land a short uppercut and hope it drops him I doubt it though Andre Ward should win unanimous decision September 8th guaranteed. @sonykvilly My mistake Bute has fought Sakio Bika back in 07 when he was ranked 8th in the division, and Andrade back when he was rated 9th, and I think that's all. There is Miranada, but Miranda was no longer rated when Bute fought him. Guys like Jermain Taylor, Jeff Lacy, and Kelly Pavlik were at the top 3 of the division back then. When Ward fights Kessler when he's rated 4th, Bika 7th, green 10th, Abraham at 6th, and Froch at 2nd.

Nobody can say that Ward has something to be ashamed of. He is a gold medalist, undefeated, dominated every opponent he's faced + won the Super Six tournament.Ducking Bute?Not at all,not yet for the least,because it's true that Bute is a high risk/low reward character for Andre at the moment. But must prove himself and everybody wants him to do so.If he clearly beats Froch, then he's got an argument.Now is too soon to speculate ducking words. Bute could not face the guys because they were stuck.

Yeah, Ward fought better opposition, and it does not even have to be an opinion. It's only a fact. Bute-Ward would be too premature for Bute imho. He needed to fight at least 1 of the other top guys to show what he can do before stepping up against Ward, who is undoubtly the ultimate challenge. Bute has the longevity as a title holder, but he never fought outside Canada or Romania, which are both his own territory where he is the favorite. Fighting Froch in England is a perfect test imho.

He was hurt very bad, if the knockdown happened 30 seconds earlier he would've lost for sure!! I think Golovkin will beat Ward in 4 maybe 5 rounds. Ward doesn't have enough punching power to keep Gennady honest and keep him of him. The problem is that Ward doesn't turn his hands over when he punches,especially inside it looks like he's open hand slap punching. Don't get me wrong the guy is highly skilled and is an amazing athlete and if golovkin was just some puncher I think ward would beat him, but you don't win over 300 amateur fights and a silver medal (witch should've been a gold because he won that also) without knowing how to box at an extremely high level. Prediction= GGG fights 3 times in 2015 including 1 time to get his feet wet at 168 against Chavez Jr and Ward fights 1 time and they meet in late 2015 early 2016 which is better for Ward and GGG because the build up will be even bigger at that point,and it would be a much bigger draw, perhaps maybe even a paperview battle if Golovkins international brand continues on the current trajectory!!

Yeah I had heard Ward got put down by a journeyman early in his career but figured it was a flash knockdown or he got caught off balance. But he was seriously hurt here. Boone has had an unbelievable career for a guy with a losing record. He knocked Andre Ward down, knocked out Adonis Stevenson, and lost a split decision to Sergey Kovalev in which he knocked him down. Shows that the guy could have been something with proper management.

Giacomomino You clearly don't know shit about boxing if you think GGG will beat ward. Andre Ward vs GGG will look a lot like Trnindad vs Winky Wright, GGG is nothing but a puncher, who at 33 years of age and 33 professional fights hasnt fought a single opponent worth mentioning. The biggest wins of his career is beating Andre Dirrell and Andy lee in the Olympics. Ward is the bigger, stronger and even faster fighter. To judge Ward NOW from this fight is insane. This was a 20-21 year old Ward fighting in his 7th professional fight. All you GGG fans are going to be diappointed just like Pacquioa fans were against Mayweather. GGG is a FIGHTER, Ward is a BOXER

It could have been Kessler as well, but Kessler is under Sauerland if I am right, and Interbox, who owns Bute, don't want to fight in Sauerland territory. they lost a belt because of their judges in a fight they won but didn't get the decision. (Eric Lucas vs Marcus Beyer). So, as long as they would have had to fight in Kessler territory, it was out of question. Dirrell is a big ? but Froch is still a very good name. Yes, Ward dominated him and it looked easy, but believe me, it was not.
@sugarraygras

@paquaio09 The rabbit punching is because Dirrell was holding the whole fight, same as on the one occasion when he was thrown to the floor like the clown he is. I understand what you're saying, but to me Ward has nothing to prove, his oppenents were at a more impressive level in my opinion. Warde is to strong mentally and would be too focused to be bothered by fighting in front of a hostile crowd. He fought allover the place in the amateurs. +TIGERWOODSBOYFRIEND You know nothing about boxing. Floyd went up 4 divisions to become a 5 division world champ. Guys like GGG ducked ward from the next weight class above him. Honestly you are an emotional nitwit and your favorite fighter lost to floyd. Get over it you pathetic bitch.

changing the scenery will change the outcome of the fight? Froch lost to Ward because he could not bully Ward against the ropes and could not handle his speed its that simple. They fought in Atlantic City NJ btw which is FAR from Oakland, CA. In Nottingham all Froch would have is more cheers than boos while he gets his ass beat and dominated for 12 rounds.

If Ward goes to the UK, he'll lose by KO, and he knows that.

@Shirishama1 Actually any intelligent person would tell you that not knowing the circumstances of the incarceration, explains nothing. One man's bank robber is another's Robin Hood. Ward was getting tired and certainly in the 11th he looked very faded, thats why the ref stepped in on the cuts. Listen also to Kesslers own view, he explains it exactly.

And what was the excuse for why he beat Froch, huh? Not one headbutt happened in that fight. Yet, Froch still got utterly dominated and outclassed. Why? Froch HIMSELF said he lost fair and square, gave Ward credit, and also said no one will beat Ward right now. Dude, just accept it. Froch lost fair and square. Ward is the superior fighter, period. Even if Ward gave Froch a rematch in England and beat him the same way you'd still not give him credit because you can't accept reality.

he beat a lot of hard puncher. just think of carl froch who in my book hit even harder than what his record shows. if stevenson want to win it wouldve to be a 1 punch knock out just like with dawson cause theres noway he can outspeed ward.

Funny how Ward dominated Froch and Bute couldnt even last 5 rounds with him though lol. I wonder how Bute would crush him if he couldnt handle Froch.

@sugarraygras

@paquaio09 Yes, I agree that Dirrell is everybit as dirty as Ward. Constant holding and running like a girl and complaining to the ref, ducking below the belt. It's shamefull how far American boxing has fallen over the years. At least the Cobra comes to win the fight by fighting.

Lol. Your whole comment literally made me laugh. Neutral location? The Froch fight was in a neutral location you fool. Atlantic City, NJ is where it took place, about 3,000 miles away from Ward's hometown. And oh please, just shut up about the Kessler fight already. Kessler lost because he was in the ring with a superior fighter. People exaggerate the headbutts beyond belief. Why was Kessler losing when Ward was punching him in the face round after round where no headbutts happened? Exactly.

Ward is good but styles make fights,, His best opposition to date is Kessler but he fouled Kessler all night in Oakland holdong n leaning and butting.. The best for him ut there and he looses are both Dirrell brothers and Pascall.. even Dawson beats him.... Bute's style would KO Ward coz Bute is fast from the outside n does not do the inside n thats where Ward comes to life..

Is that a joke...? What in the hell would be different, besides a hostile crowd? Ward and Froch fought in a neutral location, Froch got dominated. having the fight in England wouldn't all of the sudden make Carl a better fighter. Lol I mean are you joking? The reason Froch looked so good against Bute in his hometown is for the simple fact Bute is nowhere near as good as Ward, has a horrible chin, and has a defensive deficiency. Froch had 12 rounds to KO Ward and he couldn't. Ward manhandled him.
@blacktee31

U really think so? He got tkoed, it wasnt a decision match. Bute could not handle Froch's combos, imagine fighting Ward who is much quicker. Im sorry, but Bute is not in Ward's league if he can be put down by Froch. Froch could not figure out what to do against Ward and yet all he has to do is throw combos to put Bute down in 5 rounds? Lol that's not a style thing.
