My son was 3 months premature. 1lb 4oz. Many complications. Many surgeries. Many serious scares. The children’s hospital had “Music Therapists” who rotated throughout the hospital. Every time the therapist came to sing & play the guitar in his room, his heart rate normalized, his breathing & oxygen saturation improved. (She had the voice of an angel.) Music is good for the body & the soul.

Chopin has always been my favourite way to relax, so certain Chopin piano concertos were played throughout both their lives. I find Chopin sends me to another dimension/spirit/state of bliss(or sorrow!), but either way it gets me in the heartstrings & a part of my brain where words are superfluous. The emotion is emitted through the skill of the pianist, or musician/singer. When I want to relax & tune out the world it's Chopin that I turn to often. I'm not really religious, but it does transport me to what FEELS like a higher plain & it makes me very serene (or nostalgic !).

While a slightly different genre of music , lol, I share special memories with my grandson over Jimmy Buffett ! My son became a Daddy at 18, and they lived with us the first several yrs. Nana provided daily care while Dad n Mom went to work. Helping raise a newborn then toddler was exhausting & magical and we watched & listened to a concert dvd almost every day. We danced in front of the tv, I sang until that lil guy learned to sing with me. He’s 15 yo now, towers over his Nana, still gives great hugs, and I believe that Jimmy Buffett music is forever in his heart. Not comparing his and Mr Bocelli’s art, simply the effect of music introduced at a very young age . Thanks for your comment, as it reminded me of my own happy memories. ❤️

Music is the universal language of love. I used to sing my kids to sleep every night. I am definitely not a gifted singer, but every time I started to sing a lullaby, they would calm down, and drift off to sleep. My kids are grown now. My daughter recently moved back home, and with her came, a very sweet rescue dog. Poor baby has scars on his face and legs. I'm not sure but, I think he might have been used as a bait dog. The other day, I was babysitting. He loves to cuddle. He curled up next to me on the couch, while I was folding laundry. I looked into his sweet brown eyes, and I just started singing him a lullaby. He was so cute. He stared at me while I serenaded him, and very shortly, drifted off to sleep. I think we all have a special feeling about music. Sometimes it makes us smile, sometimes it makes us weep, and sometimes, we just drift away. However it affects us, it is a spiritual connection, from soul to soul. This video was beautiful! 💜💜💜
