The beat was great, wish we would’ve heard more of it. Wanted to share that gain is easily adjustable from the OTT or Utility modules, whether at a fixed value or linked to the macro. We dialled in the presets as best we could but obviously the volume of your input material could be doing a bunch of different stuff and so you gotta do some mixing. For anyone who’s interested, here are the main things Transit does that are harder or impossible in Ableton: - Adjustable curves per parameter - There’s a sidechain pump effect - The randomization system goes way deeper - Parameters are pre-mapped to the macro and the motion sequencer - You can trigger the sequencer with MIDI so you can just hit a button and your whole transition will run, tempo-synced I totally agree with you that release day onslaught can be a lot, but as far as I’ve seen it’s more to do with the culture of KZitem than any nefarious marketing schemes. I’ve been on both sides of this equation (making something embargoed / receiving something embargoed) and I’ve seen someone being told to hype up their titles or even to be positive. But a lot of people want views and they might do that with positive sensationalism; I would say there are just as many if not more issues with channels that use negative sensationalism. With Transit specifically, we actually only asked a few people to make release day content. But probably around 100 people had an early copy of the plugin because we wanted a lot of people testing it to make sure we were covering the main use cases and finding all the bugs, and of course all of them knew the embargo time because we didn’t want anything to leak. So a lot of people decided on their own to make a Transit video because they had this extra edge of being able to be one of the first. (There were also a lot of people who could have made a release day video and didn’t.) I don’t know how any of this will change, but it’s where we’re at now with KZitem. Most of us are tempted by shortcuts we think will lead to better performance. Most of us have use an exaggerated title, or asked for people to leave a comment to increase our engagement rates, or rushed out a video on a trending topic instead of taking the time to make something comprehensive. Baby Audio and I want people to know about this product of course but we’re not trying to pull the wool over anyone’s eyes. We think it’s an amazing tool that a lot of people will find useful, and there’s a completely free trial so it’s not like we can trick anyone into buying something that they didn’t realize what it was. I appreciate that you’re committed to transparency and I hope you can see I’m trying to aim for that as well. Wishing you all the best.

Great video so far! The KZitem economy, and the internet economy as a whole, has got to find some other way besides ad-centric and parallel content to fund things. Obviously, we're talking about audio plugins, because we're musicians or producers here, but it's the same issue everywhere. I'm so tired of Neural DSP videos being my entire homepage every time they release a new amp sim. Weaver, Paul Third, and Dan Worrall are some of the last hold outs from the endless treadmill of sponsored ad content. Even then, Dan Worrall still does love his FabFilter stuff.

Fab Filter is amazing, So that’s why, but i completely agree with you. I am so sick of seeing the endless barrage of Neural DSP, and to a lesser extent ML Sound Lab content every time they release something that i just stopped supporting these companies and buying from them. Hey Weaver, this was a brilliant take on both the plugin and its marketing. I was one of the FOMO crowd who bought it soon after release, but I came at it from an informed viewpoint - I love Baby Audio's other plugins and I respect @AndrewHuang, so the chances of it being poor were significantly less than some of the other creator-driven drivel out there. The bottom line is, for me doing pretty mainstream EDM and Drum & Bass, it is a brilliant addition, the workflow and automation tick a lot of my personal boxes, the sound quality is excellent and the processor use is pretty decent on my setup. I have both Infiltrator and ShaperBox - both of these are IMHO more powerful / flexible tools but they have a steeper learning curve and it's very easy to get lost in the presets rather than actually creating something. The biggest problem for me in the whole Launch Day Hysteria is that the same KZitemrs who were waxing lyrical about this plugin have also waxed lyrical about some seriously shit gear too. So it's very difficult to get a truly balanced / critical view. This is why you exist and why you deserve to do so well. Keep up the good work man.

To all the haters saying that you can do the same thing with this or that plugin, well why not just have one brand of cars. Why do we need 100 different make and models of cars when just one will do. And let's take that logic to music production. Why not just use one DAW since the same thing you do with DAW A, you can do with DAW B. I find it ironic that people are touting their different DAWS and plugins that supposedly can do the same thing as Transit, while completely ignoring that fact that every single piece of software you have, has al alternative, just like just about everything else you have in life. A lot of useful "inventions" aren't exactly 100% brand spanking new. It's just that someone saw the potential of another or several existing products and then figured out a way to make them work together and then create a whole new product, or a better use experience. Look at the iPhone. Before that there were cameras, and then there were mobile phones and then there were MP3 players. Apple combined them into one device and most importantly, dropped the physical keyboard which was predicted to be a death sentence and allowed the user to use touch to control it. These ideas already existed, but Apple was able to combine them in an intuitive way and now every single smart phone today uses that template. Sometimes a new plugin doesn't have to be brand, spanking new fro the ground up, like Transit for instance. It just has to be intuitive and have an easy to figure out GUI and be able to work with any DAW and any computer. I bet you put someone new to music production and have them use Transit and any other name alternative and they would be able to get results faster, much faster and with a lot more fun using Transit. It's all about the workflow. I have seen some of the alternatives and while they might work, their GUI is complete crap. Turnado comes to mind. It might be really good, but that interface...argh! I'm all for getting ideas down fast and with one knob to rule them all, Transit beats everything else by a country mile when it comes to usability and intuitiveness.

I've just gotten into duplicating a section of track, effecting that duplicate and then crossfading from one to the other in Cakewalk and Transit will certainly speed up my workflow for sure as doing this in Cakewalk is a PITA compared to a daw like pro tools. Especially in that I just randomly pick a preset instead of getting lost in "mastering" all the parameters of a modulating effect. And with 300 presets there should be some descent surprises.
@Pintosonic

There are a lot of multi effects that include a macro knob like Kilohearts Snap Heap and Serum FX. I’m not saying that Transit is not good but the only innovation that they bring to the table is that it’s the first to be marketed specifically for transitions. BTW if you are a Bitwig user, you can use an FX container to chain a bunch of standard VST FX and use the modulation source to create a macro knob that will modulate the parameters you want. Then you can automate this macro knob on your track to achieve the exact same thing.

Maybe we need to cover how commercialism in 2024 works? When a plug-in comes out, a developer is REALLY LUCKY if they have 2 weeks where it's on peoples minds before it's replaced by 6000 other plug-ins. Of course they will try to get as much exposure as possible! Do you want Baby Audio to continue to develop more plug-ins or should they just stick to sending out a message in an email and pray? This is how selling plug-ins works for the last 5+ years so I don't know why you have to cast a negative shadow on release day content. EVERYBODY does this from Apple to Tesla and.... gulp.... Baby Audio too! lol Mad respect for bring attention to shady things some companies are doing but I'm not sure what your goal is here with casting a shady eye at small developers trying to make a little noise in a world running at 0db of pure noise already.

That being said, replicating this plugin in Patcher is 100% possible, but it will take some time to get right, i am sure (hope) as we speak, that there is someone working on it already, but the very fact that i am excited about the replica of this plugin, means that this plugin did something right.

@@BeatsWithKev yeah, the only problem might be the bypass of the different effects, since, with my limited experience with Patcher (i have done some vst replicas myself) having the ability to load all the effects that you want at will, means that every plugin inside of patcher is always loaded and affect CPU, even when bypassed. A workaround might be to do different instances/presets to simulate the different presets in Transit, but, not only that is more work, but it also make the plugin less useful and not really a 1 to 1 copy of Transit inside Patcher, since it does make it way more limited.

My real problem with most influences is that very few make music that people listen to. While they may be good bloggers, most of them don't really make music people love. That's why most of the recommendations should be divided by two. In example, Andrew Huang, who is probably the biggest of them all only has 93+k monthly listeners on Spotify. Venus Theory (whose videos I enjoy a lot) has nearly 3.5+k, and Taetro has less than 2k, Sanjay C has less than 100 (not k, just 100). I mean, of course that doesn't diminish their advice and expertise, but each time I see a new fancy plugin/hardware video I ask myself if it will make my music better, will more people enjoy it if I own this? In the end, it doesn't mean what tools you use, it's about what music comes out. PS. But of course, I enjoy purchasing fancy new stuff myself lol. Maybe it's enough :D

You can already do this in Reaper using their automation (which you can pretty much do to any parameter in any plugin). I'm pretty sure you can also automate with tempo and other aspects. It's not a feature I use a lot, so I wouldn't be surprised if you could get even deeper within Reaper. I'm fairly certain Bitwig can do this as well.

While the overblown embargo releases do rub me the wrong way sometimes, really all I ask for from creators is a little more transparency about their relationship to the launch. Rachel K Collier's title is typical silly over-the-top KZitem clickbait, but anyone who knows of her music and business relationship with Andrew also knows that she's just doing what she can to help out another close confidante in the industry while keeping her channel fresh on the drop (which I think she's entitled to, given their collaboration). Most of the broader complaints here truly are the blame of the exceptionally competitive atmosphere on KZitem (and for plugin sales in general), so really no qualms with Andrew on it. And Andrew, always a class act - is on the money with his response. Appreciate the healthy discourse here. I do plenty of automation and make racks and have Infiltrator... but I might still buy it as an EZ Button since I respect Andrew and Baby Audio. Nobody cares what I have to say, but cheers.

I thought of the plugin as a dumb thing the first time I saw it, then I gave it a chance and it really is a comfy shortcut to have. It's true that you can always automate transitions, but with these things, easy = more creativity, so I ended up digging it.

It's a very tidy audition tool imo. Will enable laziness. Will encourage exploration at the same time.

Transit is a dope plugin. Super useful, saves me a ton of time in terms of setting up a ton of automation, can just do it all at once
