I think sales has its benefits absolutely but just like with any job it has its drawbacks. First thing is there is hardly any security in it unless the product itself is incredible and sought after to the point where you barely have to market it as hard as a new idea. Second is even if you are good at sales success is long winded getting there and short lived until you branch out which most people don’t. Third and lastly is sales inherently teaches you how to sweet talk people and omit certain truths which leads to straight up lying. Most people say they wouldn’t but you’d be surprised at what people are capable of when given the tools in their personal lives.
@yokedss
16 сағат бұрын
1. security is good for some people, other people crave risk w/ the reward to make as much money as possible 2. sweet talking people is a good skill to have, most people lie a little bit in their everyday lives and being able to "cushion" the truth and persuade people is a very valuable skill that will help you not only succeed in everyday life, but potentially help you start a company and sell your own products one day if you wish

I hope this comment helps at least 1 single person, kid, teen, adult. Yes, sales can be a great job. But, trust me it’s a very stressful job. I hate when these people who has never been in a sales job say “oh but it makes lots of money.” Bruh money is not the only thing in life. You will never have freedom in sales. The freedom you get is either because you somehow miraculously hit jackpot and so you have no more target, or you choose to not work too hard and thus do the bare minimum. Either way, you will constantly get more target and it will get more unachievable. “But bro, i hit the target, i’m rich” then what? You think your boss loves you? No, bro. They will give you more target the next month or year. Eventually market run dry, your product becomes invaluable and all you can do is cry because you had a great job once and now you can never get out of sales because everyone wants to use you to sell their things. Oh you want to get into marketing? Too bad, you have a great sales background, why not continue sales? Ohh you want to be in finance now? Oh come on, sales is better right? Please just please, stop saying sales is the best job in the world. It’s not. If you find sales is great for you then good for you, i’m happy. But if you somehow aren’t sure yet about getting into sales, i say don’t. You’ll regret it.

@@EldhoseJoseph I work at Best Buy. I’ll give you an example that happened 3 weeks ago. The company restructured it’s retail corporate and field divisions. These are people managing and bringing in millions of dollars in premium audio and appliance sales per year. One of them was my friend Fernando. Working for the company 5+ years being the top performer each year selling $2,000,000 plus in revenue for our store. Yet they didn’t mind it at all to let him go so the restructuring takes place. They can find someone to replace him another three seniors that also got fired and every other consultant that got fired that day. They don’t care about a bit of revenue loss if their restructuring saves them money in commission payouts and salary funds. Plus with a restructuring there’s already money being lost and they want it to not be permanent and pick up revenue with their new vision in future years.

Getting back to Andrew and his personal psyche… would him as a man be allowed to make strategic decisions and choices in other countries’ legal views on the same thing? Or would certain people have to take it as a grain of salt and take it the information and linguistics behind the man in this certain matter? I think yes. Can we as a whole level the playing fields out by providing a “neutral ground” a way for many others to learn and to be managed and motivated effectively and efficiently? Perhaps so, but we still allow the outliers and the “clickbaiting ways” to get to us just for a larger audience. Also, more importantly, speaking to the proper people and growing from them after hardship or a traumatic life could spark the incentive to actually lead without being emotionally unbalanced and physically tuned to “ones” very own minds and subconscious thoughts varied by many topics based on who they are and who they have become…. 😅

You’re just not good at it. People aren’t willing to get out their comfort zone and perform in order to make money. If people focused on getting better and not quit and give up so quick. You would be tuning a top business in sales and marketing.

Balance the selling mindset with a solutionist mindset. The easiest way to penetrate the barrier of doubt or reluctance is to effectively describe the value of the product. If they refuse, try and figure out the reasons why, and if they're sure they don't need it, you learned a new possible obstacle that you can use to your advantage for your next prospect. Sales isn't an art form where your main goal is selling a product; it's effectively communicating with individuals in order to find out their pain points and see if your solution could help them by adding a value proposition that could help remedy their issues and provide relief. For example, I wouldn't try and sell Solar to the renter of the house I knocked at, but I would try and communicate with them to see their pain points of their electricity bills and converse about the rising electricity rates. This conversation could lead me to be referred directly to the homeowner and I would have a great proof of concept to follow up on in order to leverage the homeowner to help alleviate these pain points of their consumer by getting him to see the benefits of putting down a solar system that would not only help the renter, but the homeowner themselves. The pain points on both sides are the same, such as lower electricity costs leading to higher cost savings, and higher interests in the property for this reason alone. Utilizing this information it can also be argued that the home value itself would increase creating better rental pricing for the homeowner to charge that would be cost-efficient for him, and the renter where they are both benefitted in the situation. Sales is never about trying to push a product to a person who might or might not need it, but it is the art of Listening and providing great potential Solutions with Value to a problem that they are facing at the moment, and ultimately giving them the sense of control in the interaction by handing them a clear consensus of choice in the matter. As the salesman, you're not in control, but you're the clear listener and the servant trying to find a solution that could help them. If you treat it that way, you'll have a much easier time connecting with people and meeting your quotas.

Sales is not a real skill at all. It's just pretending to be someone that helps someone with a problem, but after the sale, the real winners are the people who fix and repair shyt. That's why I got into the trades. I will never sell a coffee product to an office that can hire an intern to go and find it for them for FREE. And most companies are now trained to handle/deal with sales people especially in BIG TECH.

Keep it simple. Look at job roles, and job you can do, then learn the skills needed for the job, and if you can learn this without needed to go to university then do this as you can learn everything online. But some require uni like med school. Pick something high in demand in your area of residence, learn the skills, and be in depth and choose 2 jobs you can be great at. Rather then 10 jobs you can be OK at and will be harder for you to get a job like this.
