I'm from India and I don't understand the hate thrown from Indians. Look at it from a different perspective. In India, there is a huge gap between the poor and the rich. It's highly probable that users with a better smartphone (300 $ +) came across this video and didn't like the fact that a stereotype is being thrown around. Its nice that Google hasn't given up on the Android One experience. One of the reasons for Android's success was it being available in a lower budget phone and Google obviously wants to regulate it. India is not just 10 metro cities.

deepak dhilip i second you. don't know why we get triggered when someone shows us thr mirror about being poor. The #1 brand in India is Xiaomi so GO is synchronous to India i guess. Honestly though, There is not a very big market for Android Go in India.. There's a very small percentage of people who will actually need a phone like this.. Yes India has the highest number of poor people but majority of these "poor" people can't afford to live a decent life.. so just think about them getting a phone.. I'm Indian and I'm definitely not proud of the state out country is in but it's definitely improving.. (just to add an unrelated point, Apple, who sells phones which are definitely overpriced, has their second highest sales in India)

Just hate to see so many Indians getting offended. Yes we are poor, period. We try our best but we got to improve. My parents can buy me a pixel doesn't mean most of the country can do the same. Also people flagships cost way more in India than in Us/ europe. And people are such dummies they still buy an iPhone 6s for $600.

Lol, dude you still haven't understood the point here, it's not that he named India as the nation but the fact is we don't need the low spec'd Android Go phone, we have much decent and better budget phones than this. Also this phone doesn't justify the cost or the specs in anyway. I'd rather pick up a cheap budget phone from Xiaomi and use the Android Go Apps from the play store itself. This is a half baked idea that's surely gonna die in a year's time. It's funny that they think we Indians or Asians need it, when we have some of the best mid range to budget phones ever. No ones even talking about flagships here, thats not even the point. Who gives a damn about flagships when u have decent budget/mid rangers.

I whole heartedly agree, Xiaomi and Motorola have very decent phones at that price point. But this os has a use. I owned a redmi 3s a year back, because cracked my phone. So after using it for half a year it was unusable and the 16gb filled up fast, so android go on these phones will help with day to day use and longevity of the device.

See, this is why I love Google as a company, especially the CEO, Sundar Pichai. He has made it his goal to ensure everyone, including those in third world countries can have access to potentially life-saving devices, and Android Go opens the door for even more opportunities like this. Meanwhile, you have Apple and their proprietary and overpriced hardware and software, which is pretty much obsolete to everyone who can't afford it, and the company doesn't care.
@KBMamba0824

Or you can buy an older iPhone 5c or 5s for similar prices and have it still be working and supported fully by the latest software and enjoy the iOS smoothness. Apple has a different approach to affordability, they offer it by supporting their devices for longer with regular software updates. Whereas, any of these cheaper android phones won't be supported in a year or 2 and are already inferior to any of the older iPhones which can be bought for similar price.

The offline saving feature of the KZitem Go app also works in the normal KZitem app, if you're in specific countries. The sad thing is, that in countries like India (where this feature is enabled), the data plans are actually a quite a bit cheaper and deliver similar connection quality than in my home country Germany for example. I really wish we had this feature here too, as Germany is, looking at internet infrastructure, basically a third world country.

Very few, most people I've met are on cheap contracts with the iPhone 6 being the most used phone I've seen, the 6s is 15 bucks a month on AT&T and 22 bucks for 2 year on the 6 plus on Verizon. Soon Google will realize the consumers are not buying into the Go thing all that much. In those countries, market has changed ever since they start getting used high-end phones in less than $100. On top of that, $100 translated double after exchange rates and taxes, users will not see 'latest' Android or fancy colors, they will compare '$100 for Xperia Z3 or Nokia One', obvious pick is Z3. They can add some more dollars to get even better options. Yes they will not come with warranty but it is a risk which usually pay off.

Hi TGV, Thank you for putting this video out and requesting our comments on it. i.m.h.o. if, as you stated, you dont particularly like the look of the Apple Watch 3, don't get one. If you really would like to review one for research purposes, then why not simply approach Apple directly for the possibility of the loan of an Apple Watch? Instead, why not seek out something like the Ressence Type 2 e-Crown, unveiled recently at the SIHH watch fair in Geneva, as this watch was designed and built in collaboration with Tony Fadell (the creator of the iPod). Big Fan of your channel, and I always look forward to your latest episodes. Keep up the Good Work. PS. If you do decide to go down the Apple Watch 3 route, then what about the Android counterparts like the Huawei Watch 1 & 2 or the LG Watch Sport or other Android Wear? Finally, the Tag Heuer Connected Modular 45 is also worth a mention?

Classic Google. For a company with so many resources, they sure make half-assed decisions. If they're pushing Progressive Web Apps, why don't they make Gmail PWA? You know, like they did with Maps Go. And why split Android in two (again)? It failed the first time. Just slim down the main version. That way, every market wins. You want a really slim and power efficient mobile OS? Check out KaiOS, which bridges the gap between feature and smart phones. It's already being used by millions in India. If Android Go fails (again) they'll pick up the pieces and snatch that market slice.

I don't suppose Android Go could replace a Windows 10 Mobile OS on a Microsoft mobile?

verge did not paint India as poor market ..where as he said such as like countries like India ...another thing is that everyone should understand google has taken this GoogleGo initiative to target consumers who cannot afford to buy flagship phones. Also in India even the data plan is cheap what determines the quality of network is the download and upload speed in Mbps ...which is below average here in India compared to other counties

You get 1gb ram phones for 50 dollars or less("Not 100"), Redmi 5a is 75 dollars in India which has 2 gb ram.

Data is extremely cheap nowadays in India. One can easily get a data plan of 1gb 4g data everyday for 81 days that too for around $8
