British singer Andy Bell (of synth-pop group Erasure) is an icon of 80s/90s pop. Born in Peterborough, England, Bell began singing in a church choir and founded the legendary synth duo Erasure with Vince Clarke in 1985. He became an openly homosexual pop icon, while Erasure is known for their self-ironic style and a number of hit records such as "A Little Respect", "Always", "Love to Hate You", "Sometimes", "Oh L'Amour" or their Abba covers "Take A Chance on Me" and "Lay All Your Love on Me".
