Yes I first found Angeles city in 1983 and what a place it was, its changed so so much over the years but fond memories abound. One of the great ones was sitting in a bar along perimeter road and watching those magnificent jets taking off at night, absolutely amazing with the flames pouring out of the engine(s) . Back then Angeles City had the nickname “. the dust bowl “ as a lot of the roads were dust in the dry and muddy in the wet season.

What a fantastic collection of photo's to evoke fond memories. I didn't visit AC until an American in Pattaya spoke of it and advised me to go immediately, as I only had 10 days left of a 3 month holiday. This was May '09 and I've enjoyed 4 subsequent visits. The bar/restaurant at 6:42 used to serve the best food in AC particularly breakfast, which was to die for. I was devastated when I returned after a 4 year absence to find it raised to the ground. The bar at 8:02 is I think the bar about 200+ yards before you get to Walking Street and not the one of the same name opposite The Wild Orchid Resort, which I think is now closed anyway. Besides The Wild Orchid my go-to hotel is The Pacific Breeze. I used to prefer the original Central Park Inn to its far more costly replacement.

I remember there were lots of Aussie around the area in the late 70s so I guess they invested in some of the bars. A/C isnt the same anymore, i go back to the early 90`s, thats when the bars in Ermita were closed down, many working girls headed north to A/C, i guess it was ok until about 2010-ish, I walked into bar in A/C a few years ago, and asked how much the bar fine was, the mamasan told me ; ' no bar fine ,sir', next evening i walked into a different bar asked the same question, the answer was 2800 pesos, the bars are on and off as the local cops order......social websites are ok to get laid nowadays
