Very inspirational. Her lower body strength is freakin' phenomenal. She uses a lot of leg in her strokes, gets incredibly low on her shots like no other, probably depends too much on her wheels. For her upper body I'd say to do more quick twitch training and possibly grip training so she can get a bit more acceleration on her groundstrokes and serve, more of a whip and less muscularity. But, multiple slam winner, ranked #1 ... she has really made the most of her assets, great story. I saw her live years ago in Cincy, did not know much about her, she played Serena and beat her and I thought "wow ... is this a one off or can she rise up the ranks!?". Question answered.

The 5 routines which she demonstrated are quite simple and very do-able by all of us even in a home setting. There is no excuse not to adopt some or all in our daily life.

Thanks to her!!! She prevented the Wimbledon final from being a joke. Kerber denied Williams, (a player that hadn't played, trained or competed at a high level in about a year) to once again make a mockery of the women's game, and won Wimbledon!! Too bad Kerber doesn't have the power forehand or potent serve, or consistency of her idol and mine too STEFFI GRAF, but she's a great player nonetheless!!!

@@cloudsss35 Where in the tennis rule or book does it require a player to train or play constantly before taking part in grand slams. If you're fit enough to win a major then kudos to your fitness level. Serena isn't cheating the sport, it's up to her if she can take on the elite with her fitness. it's on her. she's able to play in tournaments because of her ranking. She's not using a wildcard. Now that would have been annoying and wrong. But I'm happy Kerber won because she's one of my favourites. Regarding Steffi...her reaction or lack of sympathy to Seles stabbing and the whole Germany....that was a joke and mockery of the sport.

Walter Northen So she lives in Poland with Polish parents, why is she playing for Germany?
@GabrielWan
8 жыл бұрын
Haha, Poland has 0 grand slam titles. Angelique Kerber clearly got better when she was recognized and mentored by her idol, Steffi Graf (German). Read her Wikipedia biography sometime. I might just even quote it here: In an interview Kerber clarified that, despite strong Polish connection, she considers herself German: "I am German. I play for Germany, I grew up in Germany, and my heart beats for Germany." She GREW UP in Germany. How is she Polish? Aga Radwanska is Polish. Such a shame she won't ever win a grand slam. Are you trying to tell me that you know more about her than HERSELF? And it states that her mother is German as well on Wikipedia.

Kerber beat Azarenka and Serena on her road to the AO 2016 title. She's on par (results and H2H wise) with Sharapova, Kvitova, Halep, Muguruza and leads Wozniacki and Pliskova. Reached 3 slam finals in a single year (2016) and won two of them. How can you not like her is beyond me, maybe you haven't watched enough. She's so lovable as a tennis player and as a person.
