Thanks for the review! Ok price for 2 so I might try these:) *Question for anyone that can advise. Sadly I had to take down my v3 window mount after having it installed for over a year. It was tricky to remove due to the strength of the glue. That said, I saved it & would like to put it back up. What type of glue would you recommend that is strong enough to support the camera & will adhere to the glass? What type of glue does 3M use for their strong mounting stickers?*

Thanks for watching and as to the wyze mount, they do use a strong glue that when I tried removing mine, it also ruined the silicone part of it that I have to throw it out. I think they really made it to be 1 use only.

Great review, and thanks for bringing us another great option. If someone had the skill and 3D printer this would be easy to make for other models. On opening window you could move it to the bottom window and would make it possible to open. Yes the screen maybe visible but doesn't totally block the view.

Some people in the Wyze Facebook group do have 3D printers and make their own mounts. Haven't seen anyone make an angled window mount though.

Hey thanks for this. Its great that there are such products. I would love to see how the night vision camera works through glass since when i did it without this mount it always reflected itself in the glass.
@LifeHackster

You have to turn off the IR LEDs..but keep the night vision to auto (it will be in B&W mode) Then outside, use another wired camera or IR emitter to provide IR light.

I have mine set up on the right hand side of the window frame. I use removable 3M mounting tape (the velcro kind, for picture frames). Having it high up allows me to open the window and the velcro allows me to adjust the angle. The camera in my bedroom I have it secured to the top of my window frame, the camera is tilted down and I reverved the view/angle in the option as to not have an upside down view. I dont hide my camera and people can see them. My neighbor complained that it bothered him. I said I could only see my mailbox and car.

Hello Lifehackster I have a question hope U can help, my Arlo camera doesn't sense motion thru windows but my Wyze camera does is there a way to get my Wyze camera motion sensor to activate the Arlo camera to record, or do you know of a sensor that sense motion thru window I can use for Arlo? Thank you for the great video 😊🤗
@LifeHackster
Жыл бұрын
I'm assuming you are using a battery powered Arlo. Battery powered cameras uses a PIR sensor which doesn't work through glass.

Actually, its the camera that needs to be adjustable which can be done within the mount. In any event, I'm still waiting for a manufacture to come out with a camera for renters where we can't drill holes yet can't be removed. All I have is the existing peep hole with its extremely limited view and no way to communicate outside without opening the door.

Would a blink outdoor camera work as well on the window too ?
@LifeHackster

No. Any battery powered security cam like the Blink outdoor uses a separate sensor (PIR) for motion detection which doesn’t work through glass.
