were kings popular among other things because they had supporters or hangers on

They were popular because of their namesake. Saxon culture revolved around primogeniture ancestors and being related to former great fathers would have drawn in followers. Kings were also masters of war in the very early tribal days. If a king was bad at war, he would be removed.

Many reasons: To grow greater political connections to the continent. Possibly just believing in Christ. To gain investment and learning from Rome. The Roman architecture left behind most likely looked awe-inspiring to the Saxons.

what was the inflence of celtic christianity

Widely unknown. However, we can assume it was Christian beliefs brought over from Rome but became decentralised over time and likely mixed with Celtic Pagan beliefs. This ranged from minor things such as worshipping easter at different dates to more significant things such as nature worship.

Why is there so less known of the last period of the Roman time and there connection with germanic traders already trading from mainland to England? Seems historical knowlidge is not known. 🤔

This is why the time period is also known as a dark age. The reason is quite simple; the Anglo-Saxons or Britons didn't write the history down. They were not unintelligent or even illiterate; they just didn't have a chronicler culture until Christianity spread. The history we do know about them from their own view is from oral stories such as Beowulf, however, this is warped over time.
