Not a good idea to drive at night in northern Namibia and southern Angola. Most of the people there are cattle and goat herders. The cattle loves to sleep on the roads at night because the tarmac keeps the heat.
@GrizzlyNbearOverland

Absolutely. We typically avoid driving at night unless we have no other choice. Most animals are on the move at day break and sunset.

How many reports do you have of robberies against tourists in rural areas?Angola is one of the most welcoming people in Africa, vomit your prejudice elsewhere
@beazleteats4031

@@celsiocaetano9956 Here is a quote my my government's travel advice to Angola: "Angola has a high crime rate. Common crimes range from petty theft to armed robbery and carjacking. The risk of violent crime is much higher at night. Don't walk alone or at night. In and around Luanda, criminals have kidnapped foreigners from vehicles. Lock your doors and windows, even when moving. Be alert for attempts to stop your vehicle." I'm not "vomiting prejudice" just stating the facts after having lived & worked in Southern Africa for over 40 years. Yes, Angola like South Africa & Namibia...most citizens are friendly and peaceful, but Southern Africa still have one of the highest violent crime rates in the world.
