One of the most beneficial animals we still have in this country as well as the opossum he killed for bait. Bobcats help keep down the rodent population, rats, mice as well as snakes, but he is probably oblivious to those facts. The bobcat is more afraid of him than he is of the bobcat, they never approach, bother or attack humans. Their prey is so very much smaller.

I am not advocating the use of trapping, but for those concerned:: traps are not designed to hurt the animal. They work through pressure, they aren't those big toothy things you see in cartoons. They are also designed to swivel with the leg so that any damage inflicted by the nature of the trap working as it should is minimal. Can the animal get hurt in the trap? Yes, of course they can. But it isn't strictly the tap's design to injure willfully. I don't know what happened to this bobcat, but if the hunter did let him go, the bobcat would leave with little more than a hurt ego and potential knowledge to avoid traps in the future

I don't know if you knew how important limbs are in felines? I doubt that this feline has survived because its tools that it uses to feed itself were damaged

Yes, it was trapped and did you at least report it to the authorities so they could rescue and treat and release?

This is so scary. Had one of these come up in our yard the other night and my dog lost his mind. Just glad we don’t have chickens.
