Hakuna JOY RIDERS tena. Na Kenya sio watu Matajiri saana. Matajiri ni wachache mno, na tena wengi ni wale wameiba kwa serikali. So, if we say we are going to wait to tax the rich, we should just know we have very few wealthy people in Kenya. The hustlers are the ones to MAKE KENYA GREAT FOR ONCE. Let every person earning a shilling contribute a cent. This way, next time there is an election, 8million people will not refuse to go and vote. Kulipa ushuru kutaamsha watu from their slumber.

High taxation is counter-intuitive in the long run, since those being over-taxed will simply change jurisdictions, leading to less money collected over time. Reasonable taxation and a good business environment however results in more money collected over time, since more people will move into your jurisdiction. A simple thing that incompetent governments can't seem to grasp worldwide.

First, now we need to educate Kenyans about income tax. You only get taxed on the money earned, and within the tax bracket. Second, Kenyan children have been deceived for a long time that they will be leaders of tomorrow while that tomorrow has come and gone without their knowledge. Now they are adults and still see themselves as children and therefore think the government is someone’s responsibility. Tujifunze kulipa hushuru, and let the government use our taxes responsibly.

Some people in this comment section don't understand the evil in this tax. Number 1: it will slowly kill the industry because content creators will be discouraged to even create content because as it is, they'll be govt revenue slaves. Number 2: taxing on basis of profession is unfair, this is similar to the govt saying they'll tax doctors 15% because it's a lucrative profession. Services are taxed 5% and content creation is just a service, why set them aside to be the highest taxed. Mbona hamuoni hivo?

Furthermore, Any money earned from online platforms which are obviously foreign bodies, passes through CBK and therefore has been taxed. Jalan'go must be those whose degrees which were acquired specifically for political purposes seem to be thoroughly ignorant about tax and the system used and who is to be targeted. Jalan'go should understand that a person and his company are two different things with regards to taxation.
