If Mikey were my son, I'd tell him, "Honey, it's ok. You're my son and I love you. You have my full support. I don't care who you date as long as they treat you really well and make you really happy. Anyone can be a LGBTQ+ and still be a Christian. Who cares if you're gay? Cuz that's who you are. You made me so proud of you in every way. You're smart, kind, funny, you have a good heart, and so much more. Hell with those haters. You just be you. Don't let them toxic people and haters bring you down. Ok?" I'm a bisexual and i haven't told my parents yet. I've been keeping it from them for years now and honestly, it's a huge burden on my back. I want to come out so bad and tell them i am what i am but judging from the last time i tried coming out- they told me to just snap out of it and that it's just a phase. I'm lucky to have my friends to accept me. 100% i am grateful for having them but since i already have the acceptance i need from them, now i need to get acceptance from my parents. I try not to think about coming out because every time i do, it just bombards me with stress and anger.

@AidanGallagher x five You should try a therapist. I don't really see how keeping secrets can be a burden. (I'm straight, so I might not be able to give you as much advice as an LGBTQ+ person could. And I might not be able to understand it so well.)

@AidanGallagher x five This advice might not be helpful, but: 1) The therapist will not tell anyone. It's called doctor-patient confidentiality. 2) I don't know how this would work, but you can try convincing your parents that it is not just a phase and that it's permanent.

This hurts me so much...people should always treat others the way they would want to be treated. People these days should know that nobody is perfect, people are all different. We all have different nationalities, sexuality, etc. People these days think it's so cool to bully or cyberbully someone online or bully someone at school or out of school, well guess what? it's not funny. Bullying and cyberbullying can push a person to the edge, you should never judge someone without being in their own shoes. Instead of talking about the person behind their backs, you should think twice and just actually talk to them and get to know them. Over 100,000 people in the United States have committed suicide due to bullying including kids to the age of 7-15, teens to the age of 16-19, and even including adults. People think it's so funny to push a person to the edge to the point where they commit suicide and once they do, the people who bully that person would be like "oh shoot, I didn't think he/she would really commit suicide" little do those people know, because of people bullying each other and they end up making an innocent person take their precious lives away will be responsible for that person's death. As harsh as it sounds, it's the truth. People in the comments below...please. If you ever see bullying or cyberbullying happen be a bigger person and stop that situation. Be there for the person who's getting bullied or even targeted at. We all need to stick together and seriously make our world a safe, healthier, non-violence, better place. Those for you who is going through bullying and you guys are feeling depressed please do know that you're never alone. I'm here right by everyone's side. We stick together as one big strong family who's fighting to make our world a better place!!🙌🙏💙 #stopbullying #stopcyberbullying

I apologize deeply that you had to go through that. As someone who suffers from suicidal thoughts and tendencies it is very upsetting to me when I’m not treated or see someone treated with disrespect. I don’t understand why people can’t just treat others how they would like to be treated. If we all did treated others with respect the world would be a much better place.

The moral of the story is; finding out who you are, and talking about it is scary, but ending your life is not the way to go. You mean so much to everyone and you matter. The reason I know is because I almost end my life, but then someone saved my life, and now I'm telling you, don't throw yourself away, don't give up, don't be afraid of who you are. My brother took his life way back 2016 and to this very day the question WHY still hounds me from time to time. I thought he was stronger than that. The lesson for me is never assume someone is that strong and always be sensitive. Recognize signs that a person may be showing that he/she may be depressed or something and sometimes a simple smile, a compliment, a small kind gesture may spell the difference for that person. Be kind always because, yes, you don’t know what others are going through.
