Wow dude! I loved the fact that you added a little bit of kitbashing it really brought the whole thing to life.

That’s great! Go make something by playing! It’s funny, that last part was only put in there because I was explaining to some friends about it as I was editing the video, and they urged me to share that in the video… glad that I did!

You did a great job. When you talked about working like the armatron, I thought you were going to create a system of sliding gears instead of servos. A part 2 video turning this into an affordable commercial toy would be fantastic.

Oh man that would be so cool, but so much harder and limited… Still boggles my mind how Armatron works, just so impressive and intuitive

I had an Armatron as a kid. Of course, I took it apart to see how it worked. I wish I still had it.

You can get them on eBay :) I’ve picked up a few over the years…. Should ask seller about if everything is functioning, often the gripper gears can slip etc.

Really awesome. I was convinced the first shot of him was stop motion because his movements are so true to character. Incredible!! What is the controller receiver pair you are using for the servos (or is there another video you talk about this)?
@crabfu

Haha, yeah it does really look like stop motion, especially on video. I think the slight jerkiness of the servos, because there is a lot connected together, gives it that stop motion look.

Oh and the transmitter is the Flysky Paladin EV, and comes with a receiver. It’s a great system, I really like it, pretty intuitive to assign servos, touch screen etc. They make a Paladin for air (PL18), so don’t get it confused with this surface one (PL18 EV). This surface one is designed for construction vehicles etc., so allows flexibility to do whatever you want with the sticks, levers, switches, and knobs. It also includes twist of the stick and side levers for additional function, which is super cool.

Sorry, I did not decide on those type of things. They were decided by other people and teams, and partnerships with other companies etc. I just came up with different color schemes that was asked of me, and try to do colors in a way that we were able to manufacture etc :)
