I love your OC, his design is so cool! I envy how easily you draw the side profile! Recently, it took me about 3-5 different illustrations as references before I drew something that I thought looked good. I always worry the nose is too big or the mouth doesn't look right. Reducing the reference image value is an amazing tip I never considered! Thanks so much for sharing! :D

Oh thanks for your in-depth comment! I really appreciate it. it's weird, sometimes it's really easy to draw a side profile (I struggle with 3/4 view the most tbh) but this time I had some issues with the side. So it's always a tiny bit of luck involved in my process :)

Also, thank you for linking your brushes in the description, they’ve helped a lot! You also said you’ve been feeling a bit unsure of your art/improvement on Twitter recently, and I just wanted to tell you that you’re such an amazing artist and a huge inspiration to so many of us!! Art does take a pretty big mental toll on us sometimes, but pushing through that always feels so good in the end. Keep up the great work, can’t wait to see what you’ve got for us next!

Okay, wow, thanks for letting me know and writing such an endearing and sweet comment. I really appreciate it! Yes, currently I am unsure what to draw and how. Sadly my mindset became like 'You have to draw what others might like' but this is stressful and shouldn't be the reason of doing art in the first place. So thanks for reminding me :) I try my best to keep doing what I am doing and adding a bit of an added value to my videos by some commenting :)

It's great to watch your full process because I can see stuff that I'm overthinking and the stuff I'm not paying enough attention to. Sometimes, we have a tendency to think that we aren't making enough effort, when most often than not, we are actually putting the effort into the wrong place. this is so therapeutic!! i will continue to draw along with this video! it’s so nice to see a speedpaint of Giro again, i remember binge watching the previous speedpaints bc i love his design so much! i really enjoyed the cloth rendering part, i was actually having some trouble earlier with clothes on my art, but after seeing your process i think ive got an idea on how to approach it :D lately ive been drawing a lot, and i think im finally getting consistent with my own style. you’ve always been a great help, thank you for the tutorials and the inspo you’ve even giving us through your art 🫶🫶 P.S: i was wondering if your brushes are exclusive to only CSP or can be available for procreate too? there are some good alternatives on procreate as well but the ones you use seem so much cooler :D also, i hope you have a good day 🥰

Oh wow, your comment means a lot to me! Thank you! Yeah, actually I was struggling with the clothes as well /and still do occasionally) but it helps to not ink the inner parts, get rid of the linework and just paint the folds based on a reference :) I am glad to hear! I know it can be a but challenging to regularly draw but it became like a daily routine for me, to listen to stuff while drawing, every day ^^ So I am happy to hear it's therapeutic, it's a lovely idea of motivating each other like this :) I still haven't found a way to convert the csp brushes to procreate, But once I find a way I will make them available for sure^^ hope you're having a nice day as well! :)

@gecko9180
Жыл бұрын
how did you manage to make a duplicate that is mirrored and updates in realtime (The file in the top right)? Also, could you please (if possible 🙏) link your other brushes? like the ones you use for coloring etc. because you only share your brushes for sketching, hair, metal, etc. and not stuff like the marker you use for color blocking (unless if I’m an idiot and missed it). I find that it’s much easier for me to figure out someone’s artstyle if I can see how their brushes work, but you’re under no obligation! This video was more than enough for me to learn a ton, even if I’m sure a lot of it went over my head since you’re so advanced!!! (btw, sorry for yet another question 😅 but how on earth did you manage to make your brush cursor look like that?)

I am actually trying to figure out how to do perspective drawings. Because you can see that I usually never draw a background. So I draw every day, but usually the same. And when I try to learn something new, I implement it into my artwork somehow. I dislike practice sketches, which is bad because it takes longer to learn when the result has to be a finished illustration...So yeah, drawing loosely and quick might be better^^

As a developed traditional drawing realism artist, it hard for me to understand the logic of anime faces and bodies sometimes no I only trained myself to draw what I see for 10 years now but as my 17th birthday is coming up I wish to learn how to become pro at anime as well and become sakimichan( very well known digital artist) level to blend my realism into it and achieve something unique, your videos help a lot thank you ❤ keep working your doing great God bless much love.

Aw but that's a really good foundation you're coming from. Learning the basic fundamentals of human anatomy is mandatory for any anime stylisation in my opinion! I am glad they provide some help. I find it interesting when styles blend into each other. A realistic shading and body structure isn't exclusive to semi realistic art and I like that^^

@@kurohshiro thank you so much, one day I plan to start a KZitem channel like yours once I perfect this enough and teach those who had my same struggles as well how to get out of it. But perspective drawing was never an issue for me. And yes I did fundamentals like shapes, the bones, muscles etc, and ratios. It’s just after drawing from what I see for so long I have a major lack of character design and background drawing headcannons. I see that’s very prominent in anime’s today. I literally only have one oc lol it’s an old Roblox avatar of a Latino. Ohh and maybe we can do collabs in the future if you’d like. I like to think big and spread positivity as a Christian ❤️ but thank you for your help though. As a passive clip studio user I get mixed up with using layers and what their effects are as well, and get stalemated when it comes to shading the way you do or artists similar to your coloring techniques. Maybe one day if you do a clip studio tutorial on that I can grasp it more, Idk if that would be asking too much though. Thank you again so much this means a lot 👍

I'm really serious when i said i can watch your single videos multiple times. Never bored to watch! I just wondering, my final drawing always looks like it pops up, sharp, and didn't blend with the white background or whatever BG on the back (idk how to explain it well) did it somehow have to do with the brush i choose for lineart and the color i choose? Like will it better if i choose more muted color? All professional artists like you always have their illustrations blend so smoothly and i can't be not wondering what's your secrets 😮
@kurohshiro
Жыл бұрын
Thank you so much! Since I usually don't do background I try to pick a simpler soft radial gradient. I never use 100% black or white for the bg. Usually a very light grey which shifts into a certain hue or a very dark grey. It also helps to put a texture above all your drawing and the bg to make them look cohesive^^ Hope this helps!

It really helps to simplify complex stuff and just try to understand the reduced shapes and forms. I guess it's called 'levels' in CSP and Photoshop :) There you can adjust the amount of colours/values^^ Also some hand-drawn filters or painterly filters can make a ref simpler :) Aw thanks! I love the lasso tool combined with the airbrush for this ^^' And having no lineart in these parts makes it more 'realistic' ^^
