Btw. You had the trickle charge mode activated hence the additional 0.1w A as it instantly limits power from the ports - it allows the unit to stay on and slow charge smaller devices. To enable, press the side button twice and you will get a little asterisk symbol on the display screen to let you know that it is on. To disable, you simply repeat the same process, the asterisk symbol will instantly disappear, and after a further 2 minutes you'll no longer see the additional 0.1w A on the display, and it will revert back to the full charging mode.

So essentially 2 charges from 0 to 100 which means the anker provides about 100wh of battery capacity. The sd has 50wh battery. Makes sense just under FAA max so 99whr battery. You can basically say with anker hooked your looking at solid 4-6hrs of battery life on a sd depending on tdp.

Seeing that this video is about a year old, I'm wondering how well this bank held up? I see some complaints of them either driaining too quickly (one person claimed it drained completely charging their phone but they also admitted to leaving it plugged in overnight which may explain that), and some others have complained about the banks not lasting through the warranty (one was a rather extreme case of a guy claiming to buy 15 of them with about half dying within the warranty period). ( I know that usage and number of charges will impact longevity of the battery/bank over time.) So I was just wondering how well the bank has held up now a year later? Thinking of getting one of these to charge a Surface Pro tablet (which is similar to a Macbook Air I guess in terms of power consumption) and my phone (which the Surface needs about 60W and the phone up to 18W) so I expect only about one charge out of these but that's fine.

@@jaydog-vz6vt so I believe there are a few factors at play. It can depend on the quality of your cable as well as how much energy a device allows itself to take in. For example, the closer your device is to being fully charged the less energy it might pull in order to protect the battery.

Would have been nice if he had the battery bank on 100% charge when using the steam deck so we had an Idea of how long would’ve lasted from full charge while the steam deck is using 40w.
@Darkuni
Жыл бұрын
Not really so much of an omission as it's hard to bench that. Essentially you have to be charging the deck and running something at about 25 watts. Unfortunately that's not really helpful in terms of the question how much longer can I run the deck with this plugged in? I've been doing some preliminary testing running a game that is pretty damn heavy while it's in a charging mode and what it seems to be indicating is about 2.5 to 5.5 hours depending on how constant the draw is. The game Overwatch is a pump sucker of battery juice. But it's only a pump sucker when you're inside of a match. At least 10 to 15% of the time you're waiting for a match. While you're waiting for a match the battery will extend your life five and a half hours. If you're in a game it looks like it extends your battery life about two and a half hours. So I would say if you're having to charge and play it would add about two and a half hours of overall time. If I had a more scientific way of doing it I would definitely publish these sorts of numbers.
@Darkuni
Жыл бұрын
Well, I told you I'd get around to it. My test? Constant play of Overwatch 2 - which draws a hefty 24w during a match (and like 14 between matches). With a solid steady play? I got three extra hours (almost to the minute) with this power bank.

The Steam Deck can take in 45 watts max so the 737 should be outputting more than the 25 watts that you measured here, when connected to it. The stock charger that comes with the Deck is 45 watts PD output.
@Th3OmegaPoint
Жыл бұрын
That's not how it works, the Steam Deck does not run at 45w constantly, it draws only what it needs at any given time. In low demand games it can be as little as 10-15w, but typically it runs around 28-35w in more demanding titles. It draws slightly more with the dock connected which is why the charger is rated for 45w, with some slight headroom.
