That tape job was so messy! When I was in class you would get graded down if it wasn't smooth and flat! Those wrinkles can cause sore spots

Thank you and well put! With this type of tape, the less wrinkles the better. Rich

That's a lot of tape! How long do you recommend going before taking it off? Can you sleep with it on?

If the patient is having a hard time to evert his foot. Is it okay to do what's in the video? like from medial to lateral stirrups?

If there is pain when everting foot, go from lateral to medial!

You have to find the range or position that is comfortable, so experimentation with the medial and lateral stirrups is a wonderful idea. 'Rich

My osteopathic doctor used to do this with just paper tape and you didn’t eat all that other stuff and it didn’t irritate your skin because it’s paper tape. Let’s just make it easy folks.

The ankle will swell post injury. With that much tape its going to be a problem. Second, the anchors shouldn't go all the way around because of again swelling.

Daniel, yes, there are very versions of ankle tapings. This was one of our athletic trainers favorites. It is for performance, and then to be taken off. In sports, it is used to restrict the motion for several hours. And, yes, as another comment talked about below, you can experiment with putting a little eversion into the taping for better lateral support. Rich

Great comment! Yes, patients have to be careful when doing the anchor strips that they are not too tight! If it tights during the day, you need to take off. There are plenty of other tape techniques that do not wrap completely around giving swelling an Avenue to escape, This particular tape is for a single game time frame in general! Thanks for your comment! Rich

But this is the right way on how to do strapping for ankle. If you think too much tape was used, yeah you dont have to apply this strapping technique. Use your own way 👀 better study first before commenting on something.

Clearly you never played sports for a school because you would know athletic trainers are doing this for their athletes every day and it is very effective for supporting ankle sprains.
