Anky van Grunsven riding Bonfire in the warm up arenas at the 2000 Sydney Olympics. They later won a gold medal in the freestyle and a silver medal with the dutch team.
Awwwww! and then Edward Gal came along and added to Anky’s Rollkur the resistance bands that are widely used in DHH harness horse training, and the new era had begun: high front leg action and ruined piaffes, lagging hind legs, and maximum pain. LDR / Rollkur plus hackney methods = more medals.

1. That's your own dicission. 2. at grand prix you were a hat instead of a cap.

+Chantal Prins fair enough that is her decision, but not all Grand Prix riders where top hats, Charlotte Dujardin for instance. I respect it's her decision it's just a lot safer to wear protection but I guess that's just her choice 👍🏻

That's right:) But it is not really rare that a grandprix amazone doesn't wear a cap/hat.

+Thelittlebay pony Yeah, but this is 15 years ago... Wearing a helmet in the dressage ring at high level was kind of unacceptable back then, dressage is classical way of horse-riding and a hat instead of a helmet was just part of the whole thing. Wearing helmets was just overall not that important, times have really changed...

No that's not true. It wasn't that important 15 years back.
