Ankylosing Spondylitis is No Joke. Why I am often up early is because my low back and hips ache and laying in bed makes it worse. Flares can come on with AS for no reason. For me it’s a domino effect, low back hurts or I get sciatica on one side, start limping around and then get muscles imbalances and more discomfort.
So I try to find ways to consistently loosen up and stay active as best I can during the flares. Using the sauna, whirlpool, cold plunge at the gym. Doing light stretching that purely loosens me up. And finding ways to exercise that doesn’t cause any more pain and discomfort. This is why I started the channel because I know there are many others out there who can’t sleep with Ankylosing Spondylitis. Keep going 💪
