Anna is an exceptional student who arrived from Ukraine a year ago, and
is deeply passionate about sciences, particularly computer science. Her remarkable achievements include numerous gold medals in International Maths, Astrophysics, Physics, and Computer Science Olympiads and Competitions such as IAAO 2022, IYMC 2023, BPhO 2023 and others. Driven by a motivation to help others, Anna uses science and technology to positively impact the lives of others.
Her scientific studies in Physics and Maths have earned recognition from the National Science Academy of Ukraine. Notably, she has developed a pacemaker prototype fuelled by nuclear decay, a biomass-powered mini-electro plant, and conducted a groundbreaking experiment extracting plasma from grapes using a microwave.
As the war started in her home country, Anna initiated support for
fellow Ukrainians, establishing an organisation helping refugees to find temporary shelter and is now developing an app for it. After fleeing from Ukraine, not only did she extend her support to Ukrainian refugees but also remained dedicated to her scientific pursuits.
Together with her Gower College team she won an award for The Best Working Prototype in the Engineering Project Competition 2023. And she has been recognised as a Student of the Year by EESW (The Engineering Education Scheme Wales).
Anna has also left a big impact on Welsh youth through her inspiring
talks. Anna has presented at prominent events at Swansea University, sharing the stage with figures like Former President Bill Clinton, Hillary Clinton, and Mark Drakeford. Firm in her belief that collaboration can create a better world, Anna strives to motivate and inspire the British youth to take meaningful actions and assist those in need.
