Anne Poitrenaud
« The reality represented in my work is not figurative. It is a reality that is felt, which comes from my senses and traces of dreams before involving a certain rationality. »
Anne Poitrenaud has painted since childhood. She has studied art, but it was only recently that she decided to leave the security of the professional world in order to dedicate herself full-time to her artistic passion.
The energy and spirit of Asian calligraphy
An atmosphere created by blurring, reflections, mists and diffused lighting, and then, suddenly, the gesture that comes in to support, sure of itself. In the large calligraphies by Anne Poitrenaud, there is an essence of Zao Wou Ki’s works, of ancient China and of Gerard Richter.
Towards street art
In order to create materials from a variety of backgrounds, Anna Poitrenaud uses acrylics, coal, Indian inks…..all of which bring a sensational contemporaneity to her work and, in conjunction with broad brushstrokes, place her work on the edge of street-art. In her large brushstrokes which are both dynamic and assured, one can sense the influence of Tai Chi and Qigong sessions which she practices regularly and which give the artist great mastery of her energies when she is facing her easel.
An artist’s revival
Even though Anne Poitrenaud put her artistic career on hold for a long time, she has not missed the opportunity to exhibit her work in some well recognised venues. Her series of paintings, as spontaneous as they are poetic and surprising for those who discover them, can be seen in some Parisian galleries and at artistic attractions such as Bellevilloise.
