Thanks for uploading this! I thought this interviewer was condescending throughout the clip, but Anne was thoughtful and honest and fascinating as always.

I agree that the interviewer was condescending and patronizing as hell. Like, dude, you’re a freaking bystander. You sit around and interview people who have actually done something with their lives while you just watch. Shut up 🙄 I gotta give it to Rice for being above this guy’s BS. I don’t think I could do it 😅

Anne, went on to love Tom Cruise as Lestat, no one else can play him like Tom, it's because Tom loved the character and respected Anne's writing.

This guy was so condescending. The 90s was apparently so long ago, even though to me, it’s like yesterday. Tim Cruise did great! I wasn’t happy when I heard, but he nailed it.

That was a fun interview and great press for her at the time. I loved the pieces inside her Garden District home. The first time I went to New Orleans I went up to the gates where she was walking with the interviewer and stared at the great Mayfair house from the Witching Hour, as well as visited Lafayette Cemetery (where I presume they were as it would be the closest to her then home in the 90s). I wish the interviewer and host wouldn't have come off so sh**ty. Their attitudes belied how deeply researched and thought out her "ridiculous" novels are. I'm sure he wasn't treating her condescendingly to her face but if I were her, I would've been a bit annoyed at the candor they displayed at the beginning. But, as I said, the press was really good for her so I'm sure she was happy to have the story on a major network.

I remember watching the original forecast of this interview in my 20's and I had just fallen in love with her writing after discovering The Witching Hour and I had began devouring all of her books, pornography including. It all spoke to me and I couldn't get enough of her! I love her and miss her terribly!!❤❤❤

That interviewer is totally cringe. He wants Anne Rice to be something she just isn't. She had experienced one of the worst tragedies a mother could have. And it's okay for her to have a fantastical imagination and fantasy world.
