I noticed and disliked the reuse of characters in Enbesa, also the retexture of the Captain in Docklands. These multi-factories surely feel like they couldn't or didn't want to make multiple buildings. Maybe the rest of the game set such high standards, that I'm a little spoiled :) There is also apparently no way to change the plaza base of decorations to grass, which I hoped for, but the tree planting function is finally, finally here! :D Still excited which gameplay options open up with tourism. If it's possible to base your entire economy around it? Will be fun to test!

@romaindubray2325

While I'm always a fan of unique assets and variations, these are still great quality and I'd argue multi-purpose buildings are far from a bad compromise if they involve good gameplay mechanics. Also to keep in mind: These 3rd season DLCs weren't planned ahead of time and readability/being able to find your buildings at a glance is probably a concern for the devs with every additional building they add. Oh and for those that are interested in modding their games, any new asset has increased long term value (as opposed to on release date) as it is yet another tool for modders to use and to create variations of. You can most likely expect some hotel roof retextures as well as some different restaurant table layouts at some point in the future.
@Lamproly
3 жыл бұрын
While it is a good compromise in theory, for example the orchard is reusing the vinyard assets. While the new buildings are good, the retextures of old assets and especially characters are glaringly obvious and - in my opinion - of lesser artistic quality. Usually the Game was quite authentic. In the DLC some inauthenticies stuck out to me: The pink cherry tree doesn't bear good fruit but is used to make jam, and the Tourist wears lots of modern makeup which would be considered a prostitute in this time. All this makes me agree with nate. The artists seem to still be passionate, so the restrictions surely come from above. And the quality was really good to begin with, so I'm whining on a high level here :D Another thought on the multi-purpose building: It may make changing recipes a bit easier.

We really dont know anything about it, so I dont have much opinion yet. I liked Vic2 but its really a niche era and type of game, so I’m cautiously optimistic. Lately I’m not that into PDX games anymore, Stellaris updates have made the game more bland to me, Imperator was a disaster, EU4 I never liked, CK3 is good just very easy and light on content in terms of events and things to do. So I dunno, this is just another game, another era, but I’ll have to wait and see more to get me interested in it.

I like the DLC but I don't like the look of having multiple hotels near each other, probably because they all look the same. I also think the hotel should have the radius for the Restaurant, cafe, etc and not the bus stop - The Hotel should certainly be in the radius of the bus stop but that should be just another amenity for the hotel. I separate my pops like you do to different areas but with the buffs on the restaurants, I'm thinking the Devs expect most restaurants to cover, from workers to Investors.

Could someone help me with advice? I found out that there is a sale on Epic Games, and using the Epic Games coupon I can buy the basic version of Anno 1800 for about 6 bucks (I live in Ukraine). I should mention that I'm usually trying to buy the Gold/Complete edition of games, with all the DLCs included. And if I get the full version of Anno 1800, then the price of the game turns out to be about 30 bucks, which is 5 times higher than the price for the basic edition, which is a bit expensive for me. However, I am willing to pay that kind of money if the add-ons are really worth their price. Therefore, my question is: is it worth buying Anno 1800 or get by with the basic version? I'd be grateful if someone can help me with this hard choice. P.S. I figured that if you buy DLC separately, then their cost will be 33 bucks including discounts (without the main game)

you say about how the multi factory should be done more dynamically (I believe your example was 6-4-2 or something like that) but I think you are thinking too......free compared to what the game has as base code. when it comes to tourists, you still have them having their basic needs and consumption, but the factories feel like they're tied to what you had before. you can't have them making multiple goods because nothing else in game does that without an outside influence. I'd like to see your example be done, but it feels like it'd be too messy from a code POV. maybe instead, have it so that you can have something nearby that makes them able to make the other goods with differing inputs. for example....let's go back to basics and say 'you need coal, wood and brick to make steel, but change wood to steel and you make glass' and I get that is not how it works at all. maybe have it so that you get someone who changes coal to something more complex, but it allows you to make 2 products instead
@RepublicOfPlay
3 жыл бұрын
Well the building can already change what it makes, the player just has to manually change it. I’m basically saying it’d be nice to automate that. I could just stare at the building, and wait, one cycle… two cycles… three cycles… then change product. Then wait one cycle, then two, then change again… then wait, then change. So the ability for me to sit there and make a 3:2:1 ratio exists, but I’m saying because that’s micro intensive, why not have the ability to automate the change in recipe every X cycle, determined by you. There are items in the game that produce things every X cycles, so I think from a code perspective its somewhat doable without too much poking around.
