I have lived outside of America in a country that will remain nameless, for a number of years. I like my job. But, this past summer I had to move out of my apartment building. The reason, the elevator. Etiquette is an unknown concept here, too many horrible elevator stories. I live a more easy to deal with place now. People here don’t know what a queue is, they mob a place. Getting on or off a subway, be aggressive. If the people which I’m around ever start cruising, look out. I feel your pain and frustration.

Of the 3 subjects, I have to say that public cussing when there are children around is the most irritating and discouraging action. One time my daughter and I were at her elementary school and were walking down the hallway for a cafeteria school meeting. In front of us were some kids around 10 years old and they were cussing. She asked me why they were cussing. I said it was because they were ignorant of the English language and can not come up with better words. What I did not know was that the Principal of the school was behind us. He came up to me and said that I gave an excellent explanation to my daughter. So when I hear people fluidly cussing, I chalk it up to their ignorance of the English language and like Jenny said several times, respect. Thanks for sharing.

The whistling would drive me bonkers. Lol Jenny is correct about having respect. Respect for people and our surroundings and just a polite etiquette towards others while cruising will go a long way. I have been on Carnival, NCL and my last cruise which was a first one Royal Caribbean.out of the 3 I experienced the nicest, and most polite people on our Canada cruise on Anthem of the Seas. Everyone held elevator doors for each other, everyone I observed stopped at the wash stations to enter the buffet. Never heard anyone arguing or cursing either. It was such a nice change from previous cruises on Carnival and NCL. I enjoyed those other cruises and it didn’t ruin my experience or anything because I wouldn’t let it, but it was just super enjoyable to not have to deal with any of the annoyances.
