Adrienne, I am from Australia, almost 77 years young, no idea about basketball BUT some months ago I found CC on KZitem and I have been a fan ever since. I am so proud of this young woman, of her attitude, her behaviour and her enormous talent and the hard work she has put in to make her one of a kind. I love watching her play, and creating a powerful team out of her colleagues, in such a short time. I also love your reporting and honest opinions. Keep up the good work. God bless and God bless CC.

The reason Aja is a loser is because players and fans usually dislike a player on another team only because they are a better player and they wish that the player played for their home team, and Aja has managed to get everyone to not even care how good she is as a player because of how bad she comes off as a person. too bad, so sad.

You are 1000000% right. It's a sport. It is a real life storyline that either draws people in or turns people off. I too was rooting for the Liberty and the Lynx for exactly the same reasons. Your Golden Girls example was spot on.

Amazing how your take on the Aces, the Sun, and Reeves mirror my own. When I found out Collier is a mom, my respect for her jump a notch even if she plays for the enemy. Albeit, I haven't watched a game since the Fever lost out as my personal protest against the officiating and bias throughout the season.

The WNBA season ended when the Fever lost its last game. I enjoy listening to your opinion. There are many angry, jealous and envious women in the WNBA and they lash out instead of being happy and feeling blessed for what they have and accomplished.

We are constantly told there is no place for racism in sports and this stuff is allowed. A’Ja was more privileged than just about any other player in the WNBA. Private schools and college scholarship. She doesn’t have any room to talk about privilege.

Adrienne, what you have just said about the Aces and the Sun is exactly how I feel. I even told a family member that I am now for New York Liberty and I could not stand them at the beginning of the season. I find distasteful the same players on the Sun that you mentioned.and A’ja Wilson. Their words and on court actions just reflect people that I am not interested in watching play a game that I personally love. All of these so-called veteran athletes can learn a thing or two from the team they all seemed to sneer at, The Indiana Fever. Amidst gaining the spotlight this year when Caitlin was picked, that team has had to endure major changes and has been disrespected within the league and yet has conducted themselves with dignity and support for each other. Caitlin received the most unwarranted and blatant fouls that I’ve ever seen and not one of these professional veterans on the other teams lifted their voice to help control this or even make their league a welcome place for a new rookie who once was “that little girl” who only dreamed of being in the WNBA someday. These players don’t need to mention in any interview that they love the kids wanting to grow up and play basketball. They had one of the best enter their league last spring and they failed miserably.

Your analogy with the Golden Girls and Dorothy, is spot on 100%! I have great respect for Aja Wilson, she is unbelievably talented, but she and far too many other players in the league are just not likable and therefore I wouldn’t root for them. I have been a fan of the W for many many years and while much of this behavior has been present for some of the players, the added eyeballs, focus, attention to the league in general, has highlighted others and their personalities. One could say, perhaps not a good thing… but people are beginning to see more of who these players are at their core. Some are just not likable.

Stockholm syndrome.. maybe that’s what Kelsey has. She took a step down in my eyes by not calling out Aja for saying something like that to her face. She may be he teammate but that’s no excuse and doesn’t give her the right to lump her own teammate with others that she has a low opinion of. Aja owes her a public apology. But Kelsey will have to wait until hell freezes over for that.
