Here are two commissioned pieces that I did recently with Acrylics, oil pastels, colored pencils and graphite pencils : ) Follow me on Instagram: @Aduke_Art
Couldn’t wait for another demo of yours. It blows my mind how you create an interesting painting with just marks. Wish I had the courage to try this. May be one of those days. Thanks much again.

It reminds me of Twombly, one of my favorite artists. Would you say Twombly influenced you?

Hi Addison wonderful so inspiring to watch you will do a quick change or add something and I automatically will smile thanks for sharing your fun and freedom with your work . A question about your background color do you have a demo for light colored background

Thanks so much, I'm glad you enjoy! I don't have a demo for light backgrounds at the moment : ( But I just use a coat of latex paint (house paint) on unprimed canvas. I usually have to mix some neutral color with white to get a light brown

Hi there, I have a question… I see that in your creating process you go from acrylics to oil pastels. Do you put acrylic on top the pastels? Thank you.

Another great piece and video Addison! Can I please ask a couple of questions? 1. Are you using oil pastel over the acrylic while it is still wet? 2. Are you using graphite or charcoal on this and other paintings? 3. Big pieces of canvas are so expensive - can you advise what type you are using here? Thanks so much, I love your videos!

So glad you enjoyed! 1. mostly using oil pastels over dried paint, but sometimes when it's still wet then smudge them together. 2. I use both on most pieces (this one included) 3. I agree canvas can be expensive! I buy unstretched canvas and build my own stretcher frames so the cost is much cheaper than buying already assembled canvases. Ive recently been buying rolls of canvas at dickblick.com, pretty good prices there. I've used everything from 7oz to 15oz cotton canvas. Hope this helps!

awesome as always! Sorry if you've answered this before, but do you prime the canvas at all with anything?

Thanks so much! I start with unprimed canvas and put one coat of latex paint on it, usually a neutral color :) Doing it this way I avoid having to cover up white primer, as well as preserving the tooth of the raw canvas.

When creating my last work I had to carve 23 heads and faces, 46 hands, 12 pistols, title lettering, a cross and torches , than I constructed my work, didn't like it, tore it all apart, constructed it, again, and again, and again, than painted, re painter, again, and again. Than I spent two full days creating a soundtrack to give voice to what the artist was thinking as he was creating it... So ya... You know what I'm saying...
