White from the light goes to ground, power that comes out of the switch goes to yellow on the light. You can tape off the red and black just not together.

As mentioned, the ground wire on the light goes to ground, not the switch. The positive goes in the middle. Then one color on the top post and the other color on the bottom. The three lugs on the other side are not used. This was the wrong switch, but will work fine. This is a DPDT (double pole, double throw. A SPDT was all you needed. (Single pole, double throw. Keep on truckin".

I just bought it in november.. ima rookie like you.. never was a company driver.. 20 years working on drilling rigs.

If you get something like an Automatic Transfer Switch controled by a switch you can eaven run your mini split AC while youre cruising on the road getting power from the inverter and not from the generator, with the transfer switch then you can transfer the load from the AC to the generator while you are park for the night or something. thats just a crazy idea since I work with industrials generators and control wires. the shore power on factory trucks with inverters work that way, but in this case you'll plug your truck to your generator By the way, with that tipe of power of the inverter, you should thing on wiring with the proper cable and protections, for a continuos power of up to 3500w you need no less than 1/0 pure copper oxigen free wire and a fuse or breaker of like 200 amps as close to the batteries as you can, usually they're located on the battery box

It’s funny you said that because I actually I talked a 3k inverter I’ll have a video up soon on it and my ac has been working as I’m rolling down the highway, 2 failed inverter installations under belt really made it third times the charm for me lol.
