Just got home from the gas station - have to keep my shelves fully stocked for the holiday. I'd pick up that Sky Saxon for the cover. Safe as Milk is really good for sure. Rare Earth loved going with the tombstone die cut sleeves. Green Manalishi is where it's at. Dug the show. Cheers!

The Vinyl Douche hey Sam, meat sticks for thanksgiving? Excellent choice. Great source Of protein. Sky is worth it for the cover. At the right price. I prefer Macs psych output line green manalishi is the best but albatross isn’t far behind.

Nice collection of Blues. This year I went out and concentrated on early Rolling Stones , their blues stuff, they really did a great job interpreting it. Also Fleetwood Mac blues is top notch. Hound Dog Taylor and Elmer James are two of my favorite blues artist, love their vibe and groove. Have a Happy Thanksgiving. Steve

Vinyl Community- Steve Carlson happy thanksgiving Steve to you and yours. That early stones with the blues covers is tops to me. I really love the early output from Jagger and Richards too. As Brian had less influence the band interested me less.

I don't typically see much blues around up here either - I've picked up the odd thing here & there but it's a genre I've never really gotten into for some reason. Hugely influential in the 60's though, easy to forget how much so. Was lucky to find a really nice copy of Black Merda from a local DJ collection that was being sold off shortly before I discovered the VC. Cheers!

My Tuesday evening is getting better by the moment. I did watch that handsome Zeek the Incredible Vinyl Geek's recent blues posts. Great to see you doing a follow-up. Wow, very cool Black Merda debut. Like you stated. Not an easy album to find as well as afford. Not to make this about me but I finally grabbed a copy of Prince's 'Rainbow Children'. Some great bluesy tracks on it. Safe As Milk. A longtime VC staple. I am sure that you remember a slew of people showing it way back. Nice Love Sculpture. It would not be a bluesy Bo video without showing The Yardbirds. I saw Muddy Waters back up Eric Clapton in Providence at the end of the seventies. A powerful show. I kind of wish that some of the classic original blues pressings were a little more accessible. F~a~n~t~a~s~t~i~c post Bosterino~ Rob/Boston

Paneeks1960 {Rob/Boston} you’re not kidding Rob. Those old blues albums are a small fortune. Muddy opened for Eric? What a show. Zach killed it with his video. I can’t keep up with his knowledge so this may have been a bad idea. But I was truly inspired. That dude knows the blues. Plus he plays a mean guitar.

Great stuff Bo! I’m a blues man myself so I have most of them already. Blues is the foundation on wich all other (rythmic) music is build upon! Have you seen the docu on Clapton called ‘my life in 12 bars’? If you haven’t you should😉 Take care /Kristian

Merda - nice. Most blues I have on CD (and very little, anyway) due to how scarce they are. Doors you really hear proper American blues, opposed to American bands more influenced by British Blues (so a copy of a copy). I think Black Magic Woman is probably the comp you are talking about for Fleetwood Mac.
