I have a suggestion for a tool brand to have a quick look at should you ever come accross them or when you run out of good stuff for teardowns: Yato. They look to be sort of upper quality chinese imports similar to Mellif or Parkside. They have a decent range of 18V tools and even a miter saw. They dont look all that impressive though probably Parkside grade tools. Their hand tools are quite good I know a couple guys at work who got themselves Yato tools and they are happy with them.

7:57 What is that green plastic you hold over the magnetic pickup ring? Is that like an old screen off of somthing? Its really cool to see the magnet through the screen, kinda reminds me of an old toy we had here in USA an Etch-a-Sketch in my younger years. Nice to see past 5.25 on this video, must've been a bad upload to the interwebs!👍🏻👌🏻🛠️🔧🔩🦺 ✊🏻🇺🇸🦅

Ran Hilti in an earlier life. Great gear and running them through 'fleet hire' as a business can make sense. Wouldn't touch them as a one man band or DIY'er though.

@@deandohertygreaser I used to wear a Casio G-Shock MTG-900 Atomic Solar. The battery has lasted over 15 years and I don't have to change back and forth to Daylight Savings Time or wind it. It cost $99 at Walmart. There might be a newer version by now. The plastic part where the metal band connects finally deteriorated. I just keep the watch part in my watch pocket of my jeans. I think I will buy 1 like yours soon. I did have the red led type when they first came out. I love your videos, brother, and I will recommend them to others. I bought a used Black & Decker drill model DR202 and the liquid is gone from the bubble level. Can I get a replacement ?
@tdotw77

@@darylhudson777I really seriously doubt you will find something like the level bubble available for a drill like that especially the economy model that it is. It's also unnecessary and unneeded to use the drill at all. If you really need that assistance to drill a level hole there is an attachment that goes into the chuck I believe that casts 2 round circles in the wall you're drilling into to keep drill level & square.

That segmented magnetic feedback "washer" must eventually get destroyed by the impact of the hammer action of the tool, This is surely a design issue of not making this part of more resilient material?.

@deandohertygreaser

They are simply not worth the Hassel anymore. Hilti is more of a hire shop now. Delivery of any part even a single o ring cost 30 euro. Plus they have a red light of death which prevents most repairs

That is exactly it - too expensive and on top awkward to repair. Better get a Bosch GSH. Better price and no „return me home“ service light.
@michaelfairchild

Its about Hilti scummy repair practices. If that red light on the tool will light up (not blink) the machine locks up and requires maintenance. Even, if repair service does it, they cannot reset the module resposible for unlocking the tool. Only Hilti service themselves can do this and they apparently do not allow local repair services for the tool to reset the powertool module. So, if you get red light of "death" you need to send it to Hilti.

Hilti is protecting their market by not wanting to sell their spare parts to other service/repair points, workshops, hardwareshops. So the only option is basically to bring your faulty Hilti to a Hilti dealer. Bit how like Apple works.
