The scariest part is that while the camp may be gone, the indoctrination and brainwashing still go on today, just in private homes and white evangelical churches (other ethnicities take a different stance). Look at the homeschooling while teaching their children that science is a belief, just like theirs. And then the worst and most hypocritical part to me is the teaching them to be warriors of god and to want a martyr's death(at what, like 8 or 9 years of age?!); then they turn around and teach them that abortions are murder. They cannot even see how making children that have survived to adolescence into martyrs is condoned murder (or at the very least suicide). These people obviously have placed absolutely no value on human life. At least those who are pro-choice generally care about the well-being of those who are alive. These people don't even have the morals to care about the children who are already here.
@Zagadka42

Jesus Camp: The subjects of that film hanged themselves by being themselves. I might be alone here, but I've never liked that McDonalds film. The sky is blue, McDonalds isn't healthy. No fast food is. If he would've done this experiment with any other fast food chain, it would have gone similarly. But here's the thing: No one eats nothing but McDonalds every day. Although I appreciate his dedication, he legitimately put himself in danger for the sake of putting himself in danger.

+Bri Arcanum I've never seen it, but I agree that the premise is idiotic. I'm no corporate apologist, but I can't see blaming fast food establishments for the voluntary decisions of their customers. And We had no idea that’s the kind of place I was going too… it was terrifying.. they brought something evil into the church there… it was NOT a good presence.. piecing is to speak in tongues or trying too… Kidd we’re on the floor convulsing, kids speaking in other voices and languages, and kids SCREAMING crying to the top of their lungs and holding each other. Me and the only kid I knew who went with me from church, we were just starting at each other, terrified. Both of us just didn’t move a muscle. I will add that Super Size Me should be considered controversial if for only the reason that Morgan wasn't interested in the truth. No one thought that eating McDonalds, or any fast food, for every meal was a good idea. It's also not right to criticize fast food companies for serving unhealthy food. People aren't going to those places for a healthy meal. They are going there for one or more of the following reasons. 1. They are hungry 2. They are in a hurry 3. They don't feel like cooking There are some other reasons but those are the main ones. If you want to eat healthy you can do it at home.

And it was shown to us by our mother and her husband, aka the ones who would BUY US the food on the rare occasions we had it (minus a couple of time our grandma got us some, also as a rare treat). I think I was maybe 7 at the time and my sister was no older than 14. Let us not forget that - although many scientists have tried - Spurlock's results could NOT be replicated. They tried to eat the amount of calories he claimed to eat in a meal, couldn't do it. Tried to eat what he claimed he at in a day, couldn't do it. One esperimenter lost 10 pounds eating exclusively McDonald's for a month; another lost 60 (after eating McDonald's for 180 days!). Their health wasn't great, but they did not have the horrific results Spurlock claimed to have after only a month. He refused to release a food journal saying what he literally ate. Everyone knows fast food is inherently bad for you, but this idiot pretended to use the scientific method, while he just Maury Povich'ed a sensational ball of propaganda.

One point that people lose sight of is that everyone’s body is a little different. Metabolisms are different from person to person. The amount of wear & tear a person’s body can take is difficult. Also, some people have allergic reactions that other don’t have. The same reason why a you can have a smoker smoke for 40 years and not get cancer, and then have an athletic person get diagnosed with cancer. No body is 100% the same, and that what you can’t replicate: The way Spurlock’s body reacts to McDs over the next person.

The Iceman Tapes are interesting, but everyone should know that Kuklinski was a pathological liar. A lot of the mob guys have later on said that Kuklinski had nothing to do with them, except distribute pornography. His real body count is probably around 15.

The Jesus Camp thing burns me up. "Did you get to the part where they said science doesn't prove anything??" 😡 As a biblical young-earth creationist, I wholeheartedly support science. I even have a bachelor's degree in Biology Education and am working on a Master's in education. I also teach 8th grade Earth & Space science. I LOVE science. Even though I reject the accusation against me that creationists are "science deniers," junk like Jesus Camp just gives other people more ammunition to throw at Christians who believe the Bible. We are not all wacked out like that! Some of us are intelligent, rational people who love science! 😑

Cynthia Autry My dad is a minister and the movie just didn’t settle right with him or my mom either. We believe in children’s ministry BUT what they had those kids involved in at that camp was not ministry, it was brainwashing. Having them heavily involved in emotion-based worship (you saw the constant crying and the rolling on the floor) is not good. It was teaching them to worship the Lord solely based on feelings, which is not right, the Lord said to trust with your MIND as well. Plus having those kids go through emotional roller coasters. And don’t get me started on Ted Haggard, the minute he popped up, one of my folks said, ‘’Hey, wasn’t he caught sleeping with another man?’’

One and Only Bill Cipher I did not say that. I was saying that my parents we’re pointing out the hypocrisy of Ted Haggard. Hence they brought up his affair the moment he was preaching about homosexuality. And you should not make assumptions about me because of my faith. 1. You don’t know me. 2. I didn’t say anything about whether homosexuality is right or wrong.

How can you be a "Biblical Young Earth Creationist" and "love Science"?? Science throws that "Young Earth" crap out of the window everytime it's brought up. It's very ironic to call yourself Intelligent or Rational, you're neither of those things.
