I think I really liked the Behringer xm8500, did the mod change the mic or is it just a shell?
@levelupwithmikenewman
Жыл бұрын
It’s just a shell, but because you are putting some extra space between the capsule and the end of the pop-filter, it improves plosives, and makes it just a tad darker.

Hi, Mike! Great, interesting video, kudos for your daughter!!! I've ordered mine some minutes ago after I'been looking for complementary mic for my SM7b> Just for occasionally inviting guests for my podcast. So I'll offer them Shure, and I could use Maono, because I know mic techniques... Keep doing such amazing videos :).

Thank for the kind words! I am just blown away at the sound with the PD100. Usually mics this cheap are missing the low end, but this comes very nice and very soothing, such a great sound to start with when you want to EQ it. Don’t have too much to mess with to dial it in. I myself am going to get another one as well for guests! 👍🏻👍🏻

@@levelupwithmikenewman BTW It's risky to be speechless while reviewing a microphone :) :) I should order mine in Chine, because in Poland was not available. It costs about 52 $, which is less than a half of SM 58. Even with expected taxes is really awesome value for money.

It supposed on the description has a inner double layer pop filter already... So it doesn't?
@levelupwithmikenewman
9 ай бұрын
It does, but the material used and the placement of the capsule in proximity to the end address of the mic can undermine it’s effectiveness. At under $40, the quality of the material and the thickness doesn’t really do much.

pd100, dmg20 or dm30? why? (the price is not an issue for these three)

PD100 all day! It is a dynamic mic which is far better at rejecting room noise, and just a better sound to boot. It’s also XLR and not usb, better build quality. I love the pd100, I have all 3 and I only use the one. The other two are decoration. lol.

@@levelupwithmikenewmanThanks, I'm convinced the PD100 is the better choice. To use it with my PC, I'll need a connector. I'm concerned about potential sound quality loss with a connector. Ideally, I'd like to spend no more than $5-10 on the connection.

@@mert2207 If you only want 1 mic input Best choice at $400 - Streamer X by rode, it is an amazing audio interface and a built in capture card (can plug your mic and camera into it and run both into your computer at 4K) Budget choices for PC: FiFine SC3 gaming mixer $50 Or Behringer UM2 - $50 Best value in the middle: Scarlett Vocaster one ($149) or the vocaster Duo ($249) if you like to have an option to plug in 2 mics. Auto gain feature, Great software to to EQ/mix you audio with preset EQ settings. If it were me, and I only needed one XLR input for my mike, I would definitely get the streamer X for $400 because of its features, sound pads, presets, and built in 4K capture card to connect your camera as well. Rating my favs for pure quality under 400 in the order I would buy them… 1. Streamer X 2. Vocaster Duo (for two mics) Vocaster one for just one input. 3. Zoom Podtrak P8 or Tascam Mixcast 4

How does this compare to the fifine k669d?
@levelupwithmikenewman

The PD100 is more of a v-shaped eq, more emphasis on the dark and bright tones, K669D a little smoother. I put the k669d ahead on build quality, plosives, price, and performance. For me - the k669d is the king of budget mics under a $100. Especially when you put a shure SM7B thick pop filter on it too.

Both great. The k669D is a touch brighter with more mids, and the pd100 is a little darker. Much more sensitive to plosives than the k669d too, so mic placement or a ride Podmic replacement windscreen really knocks them down.

That is the downside for those who do not like the V-shaped sound of heavy lows and highs with scooped out mids. I’d you like the deep broadcast sound, this is great. If you like a flatter , more natural sound, this one isn’t. Thanks for sharing your feedback! Hope to hear your thoughts in more video reviews to come👍🏻
