Dan demonstrates the Anritsu RG52A, one of the classic receivers from Japan that was used primarily in marine and coast guard service. This particular receiver was obtained amid the pandemic and has been in storage until now. It was carefully powered on using a Japan 100 volt transformer and worked perfectly the first time! This and the RG53A are beautiful examples of simple and functional receiver design in Japan from the late 1970's into the 1990s. Unfortunately the decision by the Japan Buyee site to reject bidding from individuals in the U.S. for amateur and similar equipment has made obtaining such receivers virtually impossible. Both receivers are described as "typically unavailable" on the used market.
