I remember Robin Harris as Kid's Pop in House Party. His stand up about Bebe's kids that the cartoon was based off of was hilarious!

On the old John Larroquette Show (earky 90's) one of the characters was a seemingly racist cop. It was found out that his ex was a black woman. When asked if he was prejudiced, he replied, 'Only against the Black guys.' That is a truth that is very prevalent.

I was born in 59 so my programming is very different from the current generation. I don't know what type I am but I remember being in Minneapolis in the middle of the night and someone looked at me sideways and said "Hayseed" I'd never heard the expression before but it seemed to fit so well that I started laughing 😂 anyway as reaction videos go you are so charming ❤ all the best to you!

I am white. I am from the Inner City, but like, what he's talking about. I grew up next to the PJs in a crack hood in the 80s. It was rough out there!
It took me 3 minutes to figure out the question wasnt “what kind of rapist are you?”

I have always been super amused by the black people love watermelon and fried chicken stereotypes ever since I first heard them. Immediately, I was like "Who doesn't?!" That's like having a we like chocolate stereotype.
@samhand8270

I guess it comes from the stereotype that black people like southern/soul food, because they do, and so does everyone else in the south. Everyone’s grandma here in the south, white and black, makes fried chicken, collared greens, peas and rice, lacy cornbread, etc but for some reason to the rest of the country it’s considered black food. It’s actually eating habits that were adopted by many in the south, including slaves/former slaves, from poor Irish/British communities that also ate things like hog entrails, or “chit-lins”, but most people have a pretty poor understanding of American history, especially as it pertains to slavery and southern cultures, so these stereotypes and misconceptions tend to just get passed on. But there’s a reason that no one in Africa eats fried chicken and watermelon.

It baffles me till this day lol. Like it would make sense if we were walking around with like chicken bone necklaces or something but we just eat the food at the same frequency everyone else does. There are so many other specific foods we eat just as much if not more than chicken. Some shrimp alfredo or seafood mac is very black to me 😆not the #1 most popular animal to eat in the country.

@@PaintedHoundieIt’s historical…watermelon was easy to grow and post freeing of the slaves black people were successfully making a living farming watermelon The entire negative connotation around watermelon was to poison something that was making us successful Its quite fascinating muse.jhu.edu/pub/12/article/687203/pdf

If you don’t like watermelon, you’re not my people. lol. Not because of race or anything like that, but because it’s mostly water, sweet and delicious when perfectly ripe and cold!! How could someone not like it? I feel the same about fried chicken… not because of stupid stereotypes so don’t go there… but because good fried chicken is just good, regardless where you’re from or what you look like 😂
