For my UT essay I wrote about how I was born with a heart defect! Y’all… literally write about anything that makes you unique and how it makes you who you are

You’re so spot on with this! 1. What is special about you? 2. How did it build your character? Do those things well and you’re basically in

Loved the video :) ! I'm going to be attending UT next year and I'm super excitedd. I was wondering if you have any suggestions of things I should look out for to integrate into that college life!

Oh my gosh yes love this! Hmm... I would probably focus the most on just being open to meeting others and MAKE TIME to go meet people! Live with roommates even if it’s a little uncomfy at first. You’ll make your best friends that way

In all honesty the advice of staying well rounded doesnt seem that practical. More students will be well rounded and not exceptionally good at a certain activity than otherwise. Really excelling in a unique activity while having good scores, grades, and showing involvement ect seems a lot more desirable for a college admin IMO.

“Well rounded” doesn’t have to equal “do everything” :) This advice is more for people still figuring it out or not 100% set on a college plan yet. Being able to excel in a single activity is always solid, but building a good foundation and specializing on skills you enjoy once that foundation is set can go a long way!

What you described at the end is generally what people mean when they say "well rounded". You'll hear people say you want to be well rounded AND you should have a strong hook, which just means you're "good" at most things and also "great" or really invested in one or two areas.

Hey, I am an international student and planning to apply to UT Austin in October this year. I am taking SAT, I am confident of getting 1450+, maybe 1500. My GPA is 3.7 but my school doesn't offer any AP classes. The AP exams are expensive AF here, and I don't have the time either. Do you think AP exams are necessary for UT Austin admission, considering I am an international student?

I don’t think so! It’s hard to tell because I don’t know a ton of intl students but if you’re competitive within the class/country you’re in, that’s usually a good sign!

@@JuliaWezio Thanks a lot! I did a lot of research yesterday and I found out the same. AP classes aren't necessary but you should do the most rigorous coursework your high school has to offer. Well now I hope I get into UT Austin soon!

Very wise!! I’m gonna do another video actually that touches a little bit in AP classes and some of the other *perks* they give you (like early registration)

Oh ok! You should honestly be ok then with flexibility it seems! Check out somewhere like 24th Realty (I used them when apartment hunting my junior year) BC they offer services for free to students! The lady I worked with was really nice and showed me every place I was interested in
